There are so many reasons to head to Emerald Downs. If you're a college student there are great drink specials here on Thurs and Fri nights and the horse racing isn't too bad if you like that sort of thing. The facility is pretty nice but it's usually packed to the brim. Come and check it out, have a beer or two, and throw down some cold hard cash on some ponies. PROS: Fun atmosphere, nice people, good food and drinks. CONS:

I went to Emerald Downs this August on their family/Boeing sponsored day which was awesome. They had pony rides for the kids and bouncy house and face painting. Of course those things are only on this once a year date we went otherwise that is just the flat area of grass to have a nice a little more private conversation instead of sitting in the stands. Betting was very fun! And you don't need to know anything about horses to bet, they have a booklet at each race of the horses and their stats which by just reading that you get an idea of what to bet on, and the staff at the betting counter will help you! If you don't want to bet its fun to just watch too! I only bet 6$ and walked away with 12$ and the concession foods is pretty cheap compared some other sporting events. It was a great family day can't wait to go again! Cheap entry as well, and very friendly staff. LOTS AND LOTS of parking..they have a shuttle that picks up people in each parking area, I was splurging and went all the way to the door and got the valet for 7$!

This is an exciting horse racing track. You will have a great day if you go here. The seats are comfortable and you will get your money's worth in horse racing excitement. The staff explain the facts about horse racing, because I was also new to this. I was told some of the history also. I went here because I always saw it on tv, and wanted to see what all the hype was about. I don't have the time or money to go down to the Kentucky Derby, but this is great and close to me. The premises are very put together and professional. I came away with a love of horses and another fun experience to relate. PROS: seats concessions staff CONS:
