In Short – Live lobsters wriggle in a tank inside this seafood emporium, where nautical-patterned booths and colorful, fish-shaped tables in the bar area add subdued touches of whimsy to the room's classy dark wood accents. The menu can be downright decadent, with starters of artichoke lobster dip, seafood fondue, and crab-stuffed mushrooms. Entrees feature lighter, grilled fare like mahi-mahi and North Atlantic sea scallops, along with signature lobster dishes, snow crab legs, and jumbo fried shrimp platters.

Overpriced and unsatisfying food

by Tigerbalm at Citysearch

I had a $10 coupon so I decided to try Red Lobster. The service was average, but the menu was not very interesting. I was hungry, so I tried the sirloin and shrimp. I was shocked at how small the portions were! The steak was over-cooked and dry. The shrimp was a bit small. My bill was $22 before the coupon. I gave a $4 tip so total was $16. What a rip-off even with the coupon! I was still hungry when I left! I just don't know why anyone would eat here. This will be the last time I dine at Red Lobster! I could eating at so many places for $12 and had better food...

  • Pros: not crowded

Worst Seafood Ever

by spankmehard at Citysearch

I decided to give Red Lobster a second try, and the experience was worse than the 1st. Red Lobster is a very casual seafood joint that is most popular for crab legs and lobster tails. My last visit to Red Lobster was one of the worst restaurant experiences that I?ve had in a long long time. On a Wednesday night, the wait for a table was a half hour, so I sat at the last table available in the bar that wasn?t even cleaned yet. Fifteen minutes of sitting at a dirty table? ?where is the waiter?? I got my chance and flagged him down. Another fifteen minutes later we get our appetizers.

The table bread is more like muffins. The gumbo was lukewarm and had itty bitty pieces of seafood, I think it included shrimp?. Five minutes later, our water finally arrives. Another fifteen minutes later the ?Ultimate Feast? comes to our table. ?Skimpy? is the best word to start off the description. Tiny shrimp, tiny lobster tail, and HORRIBLE crab legs. I have never seen skimpier crab legs, and they had a texture as if they were in the back of the freezer for too long.

No checkups or drink refills by the waiter. After getting the bill, I had to flag him down again, the waiter was told to keep the change. After that he continued to ignore us, and didn?t even bring back a receipt. After we left the table, where was the waiter? He walked by our table to pickup the tip that he did not deserve.

The food and service is simply horrible. Large groups that don?t care about a cool, classy, or romantic experience would enjoy the environment (it?s almost on the level of Denny?s). If you?re looking for good seafood then checkout Malay Satay Hut, HoHo Seafood, or Sea Garden. The CrabPot and Ivars have far better seafood than Red Lobster. This place is just a large casual restaurant with junk food and junk service.

Comparable to Old Country Buffet

by cutebirdie at Citysearch

Be prepared for an overpriced, mediocre at best, meal! Their broiled seafood platter was underwhelming. With this entree you can look forward to: overcooked, harden fish, scallops the size of my stud earrings (overcooked again), veggies that lack flavor, and shrimp that live up to their name (shrimpy in size). All this for a mere $13.99. Egads. I had a meal cooked by culinary students from a local high school that could dance circles around these "chefs" at Red Lobster. Save your money. If you know good quality food, you will choose another restaurant. Their saving grace was a waitress who was kind, gracious, and had a sense of humor (you'd need one to work there).
