Love those cheddar bay biscuits. I can't really dis this place, I can't help but love it. But I must say, your experience overall is hit or miss. It really depends on when you go. If you go at peak time, say with anything larger than a couple, then it could be awful. Starting with an excruciating long wait. Service can feel rushed. But if you go when it's slow, then it can be great. Leisurely enjoying those cheddar bay biscuits and lobster. Ahhh, love it.
Always good. Always a good deal..
Every reviewer wants to be a professional restaurant critic. My wife and I really enjoy the Federal Way Red Lobster. The service is good, the staff friendly, the restaurant is clean, and then there is the menu.
The menu is ALWAYS good. If you want $100 seafood dishes, go a few blocks to Salty's on Redondo Beach. However, if you're a middle class American like I am, Red Lobster is perfect. They have really good seafood dishes and reasonable prices. And, for the money, you get a really good value.
They are famous for the hot cheddar biscuits (limitless), and we love their house salads with red wine vinagerette dressing. The crab alfredo, shrimp linguine, coconut shrimp...all excellent.
Avoid Red Lobster.
The quick rundown: Avoid Red Lobster: high prices, low quality food.
Last night we had dinner at Red Lobster. Big disappointment! I chose Chef's Signature Lobster and Shrimp Pasta. Good shrimp, tasteless crab, no lobster. The linguini sauce was low quality, had very little flavor. I chose this item because of the asparagus (not a lot of that) and the tomatoes. The tomatoes (little chunks) were good but, again, not a lot of them.
My wife had Ultimate Feast. The same crab claw in her dish was tasty, very good. Unlike the tasteless crab claw meat in my dish. Her shrimp and snow crab claws were tasty, except for the Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, which were dry and breaded. The crab legs were small, difficult to get the meat out of. We needed scissors, had only a crab cracker, which was fairly useless on the small, supple crab legs. All in all, not worth the 26.50 we paid for that dish.
Out of 5 stars, I would assign TWO STARS. I do not plan to return to Red Lobster any time in the next five years.
Overpriced and unsatisfying food. I had a $10 coupon so I decided to try Red Lobster. The service was average, but the menu was not very interesting. I was hungry, so I tried the sirloin and shrimp. I was shocked at how small the portions were! The steak was over-cooked and dry. The shrimp was a bit small. My bill was $22 before the coupon. I gave a $4 tip so total was $16. What a rip-off even with the coupon! I was still hungry when I left! I just don't know why anyone would eat here. This will be the last time I dine at Red Lobster! I could eating at so many places for $12 and had better food...
Casual crustacean-inspired chain serves up diet-defying seafood dishes in a family-friendly environment..
Live lobsters wriggle in a tank inside this seafood emporium, where nautical-patterned booths and colorful, fish-shaped tables in the bar area add subdued touches of whimsy to the room's classy dark wood accents. The menu can be downright decadent, with starters of artichoke lobster dip, seafood fondue, and crab-stuffed mushrooms. Entrees feature lighter, grilled fare like mahi-mahi and North Atlantic sea scallops, along with signature lobster dishes, snow crab legs, and jumbo fried shrimp platters.
Worst Seafood Ever.
I decided to give Red Lobster a second try, and the experience was worse than the 1st. Red Lobster is a very casual seafood joint that is most popular for crab legs and lobster tails. My last visit to Red Lobster was one of the worst restaurant experiences that I?ve had in a long long time. On a Wednesday night, the wait for a table was a half hour, so I sat at the last table available in the bar that wasn?t even cleaned yet. Fifteen minutes of sitting at a dirty table? ?where is the waiter?? I got my chance and flagged him down. Another fifteen minutes later we get our appetizers.
The table bread is more like muffins. The gumbo was lukewarm and had itty bitty pieces of seafood, I think it included shrimp?. Five minutes later, our water finally arrives. Another fifteen minutes later the ?Ultimate Feast? comes to our table. ?Skimpy? is the best word to start off the description. Tiny shrimp, tiny lobster tail, and HORRIBLE crab legs. I have never seen skimpier crab legs, and they had a texture as if they were in the back of the freezer for too long.
No checkups or drink refills by the waiter. After getting the bill, I had to flag him down again, the waiter was told to keep the change. After that he continued to ignore us, and didn?t even bring back a receipt. After we left the table, where was the waiter? He walked by our table to pickup the tip that he did not deserve.
The food and service is simply horrible. Large groups that don?t care about a cool, classy, or romantic experience would enjoy the environment (it?s almost on the level of Denny?s). If you?re looking for good seafood then checkout Malay Satay Hut, HoHo Seafood, or Sea Garden. The CrabPot and Ivars have far better seafood than Red Lobster. This place is just a large casual restaurant with junk food and junk service.
Comparable to Old Country Buffet. Be prepared for an overpriced, mediocre at best, meal! Their broiled seafood platter was underwhelming. With this entree you can look forward to: overcooked, harden fish, scallops the size of my stud earrings (overcooked again), veggies that lack flavor, and shrimp that live up to their name (shrimpy in size). All this for a mere $13.99. Egads. I had a meal cooked by culinary students from a local high school that could dance circles around these "chefs" at Red Lobster. Save your money. If you know good quality food, you will choose another restaurant. Their saving grace was a waitress who was kind, gracious, and had a sense of humor (you'd need one to work there).
