This chain store carries plus-size fashions that celebrate curvy women..
The Scene
For decades, Lane Bryant has been the front-runner in ladies' larger-sized fashions. (Sizes range from 14 to 24, bras in various cups from 38 to 44.) Today, Bryant's clothes are more sophisticated and sexier than ever. The layout of the store is upscale, incorporating sleek black-on-brown display tables amid hanging racks and soft lighting.
The Goods
Lane Bryant carries apparel for any occasion and any season. Daring women are the target customers: Bold colors and stripes highlight the selection of pullover sweaters, sweatshirts and T-shirts, many of which bare the midriff and reveal a little cleavage. Bryant's line of business attire includes fashionable pants and dresses; casual wear includes chic denim pants styles, outerwear, and leather pants and jackets. The Cacique line of intimate wear includes sexy panties and bras and cutesy pajamas.
Avoid Lane Bryant at The Commons.
We all know what this store has in it and who shops there, so I'll spare you the previous reviewers lengthy diatribe about the goods. The issue with this store at The Commons is the lack of customer service. I have walked in many times, walked front to back, and have not been greeted or even acknowledged. The clerks (and they are obviously only clerks) at this store have been more interested in each other and their own conversations. There is no reason for this. I have walked to racks (not always sales racks, mind you) and picked up full price items which should be a big *CLUE* the the help that I am interested in the item and may even buy it (gosh!). But still, I get nothing.
Sadly, I've heard other Lane Bryant employees in other stores state they've heard similar stories. So what gives, ladies? Have you not heard of the Nordstrom way? Customers such as myself with simply start to avoid this store and that will be your undoing. Word gets around, as it is now. Hate to break it to you, but customers like me pay your salary.
I say avoid this particular store unless you are as antisocial as these people. Do your shopping online or at Southcenter or Tacoma Mall-much more helpful and actually act like they like their jobs! Imagine that.
