Editorial Review for Daniel's Broiler – by Citysearch Editors
The Scene
Known for a gorgeous view of downtown Seattle, Lake Washington and beyond, the large windows and spacious interior of the dining room are warmed up with a lush draperies and private booths. A roomy bar caters to the happy-hour, cigar-and-scotch crowd. In both areas, the bustling servers are professional and courteous, and mistakes are patched up with a smile.
The Food
Steaks can be dynamite: The rib eye is charred to the deliciously rare side of medium rare--as is the enormous 24-ounce porterhouse that arrives at the table sizzling. But steak isn't the only way to go. Arrive early to partake in the massive prime rib. Health-conscious diners may be left out in the cold--even salads, such as a spinach version in a warm bacon dressing, can be indulgent artery enemies. For dessert, skip the heavier options in favor of chocolate-dipped, Grand Marnier-filled strawberries.

Insider Tips
Save MoneyThe popular daily happy hour (4pm-6:30pm) offers half-price appetizers and wine, along with discounted draft beer. Arrive early to snag a seat with a view.
When to GoThe prime rib often sells out--put in your order early to ensure a slice of it.
ParkingThree hours of parking in the underground garage are free with validation--otherwise, head over to the free garage at Lincoln Square, across 8th Avenue.

I've been to Daniel's twice. The first, I was atrociously under-dressed (yet not treated any less of a human being) and the second time at Bellevue. Both times were sensational. The steaks are full of flavor and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, although sometimes a little pretentious. One night, instead of going to Daniel's, I suggested that we try something different, the Metropolitan, and it was atrocious and far inferior to Daniels. I would suggest Daniel's to anybody looking for a succulent piece of beef. The mashed potatoes were not my favorite.

Two people, two drinks a piece, one appetizer, starter salad, small (9oz) filet each, one side of spinach, and coffee for desert = $250. What a joke. The steak was good, but the price is absurd for mediocre service, atmosphere, view, etc. For that price, you could be eating at Canlis, where you are assured a memorable experience. Never again would I return to Daniels...rediculously expensive for what you get!
Pros: steak was decent
Cons: everything else...extremely overpriced for the experience
