The Scene
Opened in 1958, Chaces is a small, one-story building whose plain exterior has been prettified by loads of hanging flowers. Inside, homey comfort rules. Ceiling fans, golf towels from around the world, Husky helmets (during football season) and family photos (including one of owner Bill Chace as a Husky crew member in 1932), serve as decor. Service is home-style and hospitable.
The Food
The menu lists eight egg dishes, four waffles and eight pancakes, plus burgers and sandwiches for lunch. Everything is prepared quickly and with practiced ease. Bargain specials, such as chicken-fried steak with two eggs or a hefty biscuit with sausage gravy, can be had for the price of a couple loads of laundry. For those with a serious pancake yen, try the combo plate of buttermilk, buckwheat, strawberry and potato cakes.

If u don't like the Pancakes, get the hashbrown omlet. That is one of the best breakfast meals I have ever had. Mad love to Chaces.

This is a great breakfast spot. Usually busy in the morning with just a small parking lot. You may wait for a bit but the traffic turns over fairly quickly. I have been in there with groups as large as 15 and they try their hardest to accommodate and their service is quick.

Know Before You Go:
Be prepared to wait, but not too long. This is a diner, and that means eat it and beat it.
