Like being on the islands. My friend and I just got back from two weeks in Greece and were craving Greek food specifically Saganaki. It was wonderful at Orexi, in fact better then some we had in Athens. I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again!
Unpretentious place, good food.. It's like visiting relatives in a simple Greek village - there is no white-gloved service but the food is fresh and the people are cordial. Tzatziki is freshly made and tangy, pitas are the best, lamb souvlaki is juicy. Forgo the side veggies and save room for real coffee.
Loved it!. The atmosphere is great, it is very tastefully decorated. The staff was very attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. We'll be going back there!
Chef/Staff Unwilling to Modify Meals. When we asked the waitress to leave off the feta cheese or just add a veggie to the spaghetti, the waitress refused and said, "The cook is very stubborn and he won't add or make anything different. He likes to do it this way." We promptly left and went to an Italian restaurant nearby that was flexible. If you go to a restaurant, you are paying for the meal. They should accomodate; at least a little.
Not all that great. Menu selection and variety was fine but the ambiance was lacking and the lamb was very low quality - tough and not at all lean. Skip this one.
consistent good food. My husband and I have been going to Orexi for the last four years and we love it. Although service is sometimes slow, the food is very flavorful, and there is plenty of choice for vegetarians. I'm sure we'll be going back many more times.
Good food... fast. Great for lunch with usually quick service - and I've enjoyed everything I've ordered every time I've been here (5 or 6 times). Pretty basic, but tasty. Parking can be a drag, but I try to come in for a late lunch to avoid any crowding.
Yum - flaming cheese. The food here is very good. Difficult to decide what to order. Have some greek coffee!
Can't go wrong here. This is one of Seattle's best at all the basic Greek standards; fine hummous, lamb, beef and squid, all the characteristic flavors you expect done with a bright professional touch. But I usually end up eating the oysters and other dishes, oddly enough. Indeed, I began experimenting with cooking "lemanado" style after eating their pork dish of that name. I've never had anything but good meals here for years, and I can't think of any reason not to recommend it as highly as I can. I don't throw out 10's for nothing.
