Tips for Tall's Camera

September 08, 2012

This store sucks...I went to look around and so they idiot with the tie, one of them, behind the counter asks me if he can help and when I asked about a camera, the first thing he said is that it isn't powered up....When I asked about the price of a lens, he handed me a store list for me to scan....No smile, no helpful hint...no nothing whatsoever...

All I did was hold the camera and see if it would feel bulkier than what I had now....I didn't want to use it to peel shrimp....The salesmen make you feel like an idiot that would grab and camera and throw it against a wall or something....Sure they're expensive but its not an MRI machine or the space shuttle....Its strange because you can go in to Guitar Center and play a $3000.00 guitar and they could care less and to handle a $2000.00 camera I have to be the Pope...and the rest of the goons are chattering with one of their regulars....This is why your store was empty and this is why I'm buying my cameras online from now on....

The worst customer service. I went into the Bellevue location. The man providing service was more interested in proving to me how much he knows about binoculars as opposed to asking me what features I like in binoculars. My description of him is simply - annoying pest.

Although he asked what I was looking for in binoculars the way he carried on customer service was completely contrary to that. I was interested in a set of binoculars which have great warranty, good eye relief at 8 or 10x25 and also have a solid frame. After speaking with the man behind the counter I concluded he could probably use a good smacking for his level of rudeness.

His tone of voice was snobbish and in fact he didn't know that much about warranty differences and also seemed to indicate warranty was not something worth consideration.

The store didn't have a broad choice of binoculars and their prices were a little high anyway.

Overall I wouldn't go into Tall's camera unless you like being treated seek to be treated in a condescending manner. They need to have a class on customer service for this man. Or consider letting him go.

Bad Service, condescending. I went in to try out the Canon 5D MK II, and the guy told me that "sorry, I can't let you see it, the camera is too expensive." "Everyone who buys a camera that expensive wants to be the first one to touch it." So basically what he's saying is that I have to promise that I will buy the camera from him in order to try it?!?!?! How do you even sell cameras if you refuse to show your customer cameras because you assume they won't buy it??? I happen to be using a 30D and wants to upgrade. I also have a Leica M6, Rolleiflex, and large format camera gears....‎

Very good camera store. I had never purchased anything at Tall's until recently. I needed a new video camera and did a fair bit of online research. After narrowing it down to 2 models I checked to see where I could find them locally. Best Buy was totally out of one model statewide. Tall's had them both. I first called them and spoke with Adrian confirming that they had them before I made a trip to the mall. He was very helpful even over the phone and gave me additional info that had not come up in my research. Once I went to the store he continued to be very helpful and not at all pushy. Ultimately I purchased the camcorder he recommended and I love it! The quality and features are exactly what I was looking for and they even beat Best Buy's price (if B-B had even had it in stock.) I highly recommend Tall's Camera.

Great Sales People. Friendly and knowledgeable sales people willing to share their knowledge and opinions of the products they sell. Always have the newly released cameras to try and to test unlike other camera stores who just display their wares and will not let you touch it (even with a 10 ft. pole).
