Take Your Money & Run!!!!
by bndgrl at Citysearch
"Take the money and Run"! That's exactly what they do..... I went into this store Fall 2009 and thought I have seen this business here for over 20 years and thought they must be doing something right. I was wrong. We spent over $3,000 for our son's room with them and have had a defective crib for almost 1 year with no resolution from them.
When my order arrived I had it delivered and assembled. Their delivery company told me immediately that the front of the crib was defective, the main stability screws in front would not tighten completely and it would become a safety issue, they wrote it on their paperwork and called the store immediately as did I. Store manager told me she would send someone out "to take pictures". That never happened, I continued to call and was told someone would get back to me and I have still not received any calls.
On October 27th I received a letter from the owner stating my furniture line was being discontinued and if I wanted any additional pieces I should order them now. I phoned, spoke with Katherine and she said she would immediately get to the bottom of this, come to my home to look at if necessary AND THIS TOO HAS NEVER HAPPENED.
So end result is I will have to purchase another crib, toddler rail and bed conversion kit because this company refuses accept the responsibility that the crib they sold me is defective and poses a safety risk to my child.
I will definitely be going elsewhere~Merry Go Round in Bellevue will be my new place to go!!!!
Shop Elsewhere!

We used Go To Your Room twice, once for a nursery glider, and all went well. However, we also used them to purchase our crib bedding set, and ran into terrible problems. These problems all were caused by employee customer service issues, more specifically, the "right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing."
We ordered linen, and then I came in a second time to confirm the order. Three weeks later, my wife got a phone call to reconfirm the same order! I don't know if I wasn't trusted, or they just plain forgot I came in, but it added three weeks of processing time to the work. Our linens came in nine weeks later, only to be done incorrectly. We asked for a throw pillow which was made incorrectly, and now has to be redone.
The two customer service issues that bother me about Go To Your Room are first, we always had a feeling like our order was unimportant, even thought we spent over $1,000 at their store. Secondly, when there were problems, they were treated like we were no big deal. The response I got about the pillow was "I will have to reorder it I guess" and two employees didn't know whether or not it was actually done right or wrong.
Finally, I ordered a pillow. To me, a "pillow" means a fabric cover with stuffing inside, otherwise it's called a "pillowcase" right? What we got was a pillowcase (cover) with no filling. This is on top of it being done incorrectly. I was never told this, and when I went in to pick it up I was told "Well yes, they are all like that." I have NEVER heard of a pillow just being a cover, and no one bothered to tell me while we ordered (and confirmed TWICE!). This is characteristic of the lack of customer service that we received at Go To Your Room. We will never go back and would not recommend the store to anyone.
- Pros: High-end selection
- Cons: Customer service, ordering process
