Overview
An expansive garden, the whole contains several interesting parts: Look for the Waterwise Garden, which demonstrates how to grow sun and shade plants without needless water consumption. Or, come summer, visit the fuchsia garden--it contains nearly 100 varieties, all being tested against shifts in light and temperature. In the Yao Japanese Garden, you'll find arrangements that follow traditional and contemporary Asian ideas about gardening. Elsewhere gardens feature colorful perennial borders and ground covers.
Features
The Botanical Gardens' gift shop contains garden goodies, books on plants, cards and other gift items. And if you're looking to do some weed picking, dial 462-2749--there are volunteer opportunities aplenty.

This place is, in every sense of the word, a sanctuary from our daily lives. Stop by and enjoy.

The kids then take the samples to the lab and look under microscopes and check out all the live little critters. Believe me when I say how amazing it is to see just how alive the water really is! PROS: super learning experience CONS:
