What People Are Saying About Thai Ginger Restaurants

In Short – This small pocket of comfort and cheer attracts a loyal following for both eat-in and takeout dining. Diners may never encounter a dish with more ginger than the ginger chicken, a dish finished with a soy-oyster sauce. The garlic prawns entree's simplicity (broccoli, crustaceans, garlic sauce) makes it a popular choice. Other offerings include a red curry with vermilion, tom kah gai, and cashew nut chicken, spiked with chili paste.

Look Good:
Rice is additional for any dishes; brown rice costs extra.

Horrible Experience

by Aryavrat at Citysearch

I have heard positive about Thai Ginger but this one is not good at all....I do not that was us or for all.. when we went there , they were about to close. They said that they can serve us but we need to order fast and everything together. Thats fine.. we ordered fast but after eating the food i felt that they mixed same thing in all dishes .. Sauce was only different. (tip :- never go in restaurant while they are about to close because they are in hurry and dont want to cook good food) . i never tasted such taste for Thai food. total lost of money and service was also ok .. might be we were late so they wanted to leave us quickly.

Any way over all not nice experience.

Just got kicked out after 25 minutes because they are busy

by goscubadive at Citysearch

Just went to have lunch there. I had eaten a little bit of my lunch, the guy came around and asked if I wanted a to-go box. I said I did, he picked up my plate, dumped the rest of my lunch in and said thanks for coming. Then another guy came and asked if we could leave because they are busy today. I've been there a bunch of times, the food is not great and neither is the experience. But after a while you forget and want to have something different for lunch, so you venture over to Thai Ginger. I think this tops it for me.

If you want Thai, go across the street into Loehmans Plaza and eat at Tasty Thai. Food is much better and certainly the service.

This was a really bizarre dining experience

by barsamiansbeergut at Citysearch

We heard this place had some good Thai food so we went on Friday night. The first thing we noticed is that two tables got up and left. They got into arguments with the staff about food quality. This was obviously a red flag but we had waited 25 minutes to be seated and had already ordered. What a mistake. We waited nearly an hour for our appys to show up. The Tod Mun was rubbery and cold. We brought this to the waitresses attention and she just shrugged. I saw the manager and when apprised she said, "what you know about thai food? you not thai people! you dirty arab!" Well, I am Armenian, not Arab, but that is beside the point. I have never had such an encounter in all me life. We got up to leave and the manager demanded payment for the entire meal. She threatened to call the police and i told her please do! She actually followed us into the parking lot! I am still shaking my head.

Simnply a terrible experience

by jeronne at Citysearch

This has got to be the worst restaurant in Seattle. The food was less than mediocre (way too sweet, undercooked, cold) and the staff were incredibly rude. The waitress couldn't be bothered to give us any of her time and when we dared to voice concern over the food quality it brought the manager over. Rather than attend to our concerns the manager began yelling at us. We were astounded. I would avoid this place at all costs. I read that the owner of this pl;ace was sent to federal prison for forcing her American staff to marry her Thai relatives in some sort of Green Card scam. What a joke Thai Ginger is.

Worst Meal Ever and Owner is a FELON!

by BigKim at Citysearch

We went here for a celebration and what a mistake it was. The food was far from authentic. The Pad Thai was made with catsup as in Heinz 57!! Everything was sickly sweet. Also, the food got cold pretty quickly so we think it was microwaved from the chiller rather than freshly prepared. When we brought this to the wait staffs attention they ignored it. After informing them we would neither eat their fare nor would we pasy for it the manageress came out from the back screeching at us like a bird of prey! She wanted to be paid. Rather than continue this ill treatment I agreed to pay but the bill was not itemized. Since it seemed way too high I asked for an itemized version but this triggered another outburst from the manager! It was too much! We ran out the door but this crazy woman was in hot pursuit. Thank fully we had parked across the street since their lot was too small. We found out later that this is the place where the owner is sitting in a federal prison for having US Citizen employees marry her Thai family members so they can get green cards. It figures. This place is corrupt all the way around. Here's the link to the story:

The owners name is Varee Bradford. Obviously she is married to a Farang.
