In Short – No can-openers, no freezers, no microwaves. Almost everything is handmade, perhaps explaining why packs of noontime Bellevue diners push their way into the place to compete for the too-few sheet-metal tables. Meats taste of well-constructed marinades (the chicken in lime, the steak with chilies). At the salsa bar, try fresh blends such as a cilantro-rich pico de gallo, a chunky red salsa Chihuahua and a darkly intense salsa negra.

Fresh - freshly fried!

Acapulco Fresh makes a big deal about not using can-openers and thus not using any canned ingredients - only fresh. The food IS really good, though much of it is fried (the taquitos are great, though. The tortilla chips are, too, but they're served warm and salty and are delicious). The meats are moist and tasty, the salsas are fresh and spicy, and there are plenty of drinks (cold sodas and beers) to have with your meal. The place is PACKED during lunch, but it's a nice place to get a quick dinner when all the restaurants in town seem to have dinner lines out the door.

Excellent & well-priced

I just tried Acapulco Fresh for the first time 2 days ago and was pleasantly surprised. The prices were reasonable for the size and quality of the food. Plus, it's true, everything from the tortillas to the salsa were very fresh. It's the first time I've eaten Mexican food and didn't feel like a ate a plate of grease. The atmosphere was buzzing with conversation and music so I'd definitely eat there again and highly recommend it!

Not the best

I was expecting lots of fresh greens and cilantro and grilled meat. The salsa bar was okay, but that's about it. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. Also, the music was WAY too loud.

- Cons: not that fresh, music too loud, flavor not that great
