Love It!. Since Yelp keeps hiding my reviews for unkown reasons i will post it here on this much much better site:

We've been in several times, and I am always impressed. I keep meaning to write a review but never got around to it until now. My first time I was with a party of 10 for a birthday, and I had the bleu cheese smothered rib eye steak special. My server said the steak was "about 16 ounces." I ordered it anyways, and boy, she was right! It was bigger than my head! Too bad for me, it was so good I ate the whole thing anyways. Needless to say, I didn't have room for dessert that night.

The next time I came in, I had the lasagna with homemade italian sausage. Who do you know that makes their own sausage? Well, Mama Passarelli's, that's who. Again, I ate until I thought I would explode, but this time managed to save room for some triple berry crisp, which we waited 10 minutes for because IT WENT IN THE OVEN WHILE WE WERE EATING OUR DINNER! How fresh can you get! The owner, "Mama," had the timer for it around her neck while she waited on tables and greeted her guests. They brought it out and it was, of course, delicious.

I've also come in for take out a few times, and enjoyed the food just as much. Their garlic caesar dressing is to die for.

As far as service, I am always very impressed. They recognize me and the hubby when we walk through the door, and we always feel well taken care of. They even remember that the malbac is the wine I like! Do yourself a favor, bring the fam for a treat!

Best Italian. Mama (Ginger) Passarelli is an important and vibrant part of both the smaller AND larger community. My husband and I brought a friend/colleague and her husband to the Dinner House. Ginger was not there because she and her troop went to Joplin Missouri after devastating tornado to feed the people, one warm bowl at a time. My friend's husband handed over some cash that I don't know about, but he was a first time visitor and that happened before my very eyes. We had a MARVELOUS meal, in a lovely setting. In my opinion, this is a "Destination" restaurant that should be on the list of "most interesting" "highest quality" and "most engaged with the world."

The Best Steak and Feeling in the Northwest!!!!. I have traveled extensively and eaten in many wonderful restaurants throughout the United States. I have paid good monies for mediocre food. I have passed Mama's place many times saying I need to go in there. Well, I finally took the leap and went for dinner. I am here to tell you that I should have done this the day t...he sign went up!!!! What a fool I was not to have stopped before. We had the Ceasar salad (one of the best) and the "Blue Cheese steak" OMG!!!! It is hard to get a steak that is cooked perfectly for any kind of money unless you pick a place that costs money as you walk in the door. This was the best steak we have ever eaten!!!! Mama hand makes her own sausage which is a mild wonderful flavored meat with the most amazing textures. The service is amazing and everyone is happy you are there. Unlike the places where you feel like you are there to help them. Thank you for such a wonderful experience Mama!

Where Garlic is an Art Form. If you want home cooking the way you wish you could have it, every day, this is the place.

Mama's feeds the hungry, and that's everyone who can take a breath! (She also donates time and significant personal resources to all the First Responders in the local area, such as Police, Fire, and Search & Rescue, and we all enjoy her chow at all hours of the day and night.)

Every mouthful of whatever Mama is cooking is a delightful experience, and you hate to put your fork down... so get over there more than once.

great place for large rehearsel dinner. Great service, wonderful relaxing environment, plenty of food, good flavor. A price menu for everyones budget. We had 38 people to host on a budget and it was a wonderful dinner in a beautiful atmosphere. Everyone went home tummies full and spirits high. It was a wonderful wedding memory.

Thank you MaMa Passarelli and friends

FIVE STARS isn't enough for Mama's!!. When you walk in -- if the aroma doesn't give you food coma, the food itself will. And Mama keeps you laughing the entire time! I dare you, DOUBLE DARE you to find a meal or a dessert that isn't "incredible". This lady is AMAAAAAZING -- wow, what she can do with food!! The stuff of legends. The setting is quaint and eccentric, and i love it. There's even a little sitting area to retire to with dessert if you like. It doesn't get any better than Mama's!!

This is THE place to eat in Maple Valley / Black Diamond. If you are in Maple Valley / Covington / Black Diamond and have not tried Mama’s – you are in for a surprise. This is better than Mom makes, but not that fancy gourmet stuff you pay 35- 50 dollars for in Tukwila/Seattle/Bellevue. Prices are VERY reasonable – and families can afford this place easy – many locals make this a ONCE A WEEK stop. Especially as you get to know Ginger, a.k.a. “Mama.” Very Casual – come as you are.

The toughest decision you will have is Soup or Salad? The SOUP IS FAMOUS – if you know about “The Soup Ladies.” The Caesar Salad has a special dressing – heavy on garlic and it has a special “kick” (secret ingredient – a little zip for your salad).

Steaks are generous and HAND CUT. Lots of pasta dishes and usually there is a light offering. Bread is for purchase only (does not come with the meal). Selection of local wines and a full bar menu is available with dinner.

Entrées vary by season and whim of the cook – specials are often the best bet and offered daily Wednesday – Sunday. Special occasions like Valentine’s Day are always a buffet, making it possible for more people to enjoy the special offerings on the special days. Holidays and Friday / Saturday I recommend calling ahead in case reservation is necessary.

Just when you think it is over – there is always at least two or three fresh desserts to choose from. The tiramisu recipe is awesome – try this as well as any of the baked special goodies.

The people make the difference!. This is a super fun restaurant, very family friendly. The service and Mama are just great people. The food is pretty good, and I agree it is a pricier place than I'd normally take the family, but the service and the atmosphere make the difference.

Didn't meet expectations. Calling something 'homemade' doesn't always make it worth the price. I think dinning out should be great, especially at these prices. It was mediocre at best. I said to my husband 'I could do better than this in a rush', he agreed. The lemon in the piccata sauce didn't taste like real fresh lemon. It was also poured over the pasta like soup, and not lightly accenting the dish as it should. I've spent a lot of time in Italy and never saw food served like that.

Go here for a good meal and friendly service. We've been there twice since it opened and both times, we experienced a wonderful meal and service. Having diabetes, it's nice that they have a "bottomless pizza" that has very few if any carbs in an entree. I love home-cooking which is really what you get here. And, if you like garilc, you won't be disappointed here. The portions are generous and my wife and I always take home a doggie bag. The owners, Ginger and Harvey, are wonderful hosts and people and the staff are polite and attentive. If you live in the South end, this restaurant is a wonderful place to go, for any occasion.
