*****DO NOT TRUST HIM TO CATER YOUR
EVENT! ! !***** I give this 1 star only because it wouldn't let me post it without giving it at least one!***** THIS IS AN EXTREMELY Unprofessional caterer!*****
I cannot speak to the quality of the food since he cancelled last minute with no good reason six days before my best friends sons wedding! WHO cancels catering a wedding because 6-10 people are added to the list? ? ? HE chose the menu AND bid the cost for 50-60 people. When contacted with the final head count it went to 60-70! Any professional caterer would expect a small change in #'s and if need be have a reasonable conversation to adjust cost if needed. Flying off the handle screaming and complaining that he wasn't going to make any money on this job then hanging up. . . Not someone I would EVER work with - Turns out to be a blessing in disguise since My friend contacted PF CHANG's caterer in Bellevue and explained what had happened with Papa's Place Catering - they are clearly true professionals and understand customer service - They are coming to the rescue and we know the quality of the food will be amazing! They are even providing salmon which is not on their menu since this is a Chinese American Wedding and the culture requires certain items be on the menu - Hip Hip Hooray for PF CHANG'S - TWO THUMBS DOWN FOR PAPA's PLACE!
Not Designed For Kids.
This place is small, and really more of a "Ladies Lunch" kind of place. I don't understand why people even WANT to bring kids in here. Go down the road to Taco Bell or Denny's, instead of ruining my lunches out with friends.
The food is great, prepared with care, and Les is a friendly, accommodating guy. It is a great place for lunch and to chat with friends, as long as screaming children are absent.
The owner is rude and inappropriate!. Les Goetz is the owner of Papa's Place at the Country Village and he's behaved rather rudely several times that we've brought in our kids. But today he was both rude and inappropriate. When we're out with our kids, we like to find places to eat that have a menu with something other than chicken strips and fries. So we've been pleased that Papa's Place has things on the menu like pesto pasta and quesadillas that our kids enjoy. So today I went there with our kids and as we were discussing what we wanted, Les interrupted me saying derisively, "You can just go over to the hotdog stand if you want kid food." I politely but pointed dismissed his comment but within a moment he rudely repeated his remarks adding that "they're not going to eat any of [our food] anyway." How rude and presumptuous! I can't decide whether to never return to Papa's or to make Les's life miserable by frequenting Papa's with all the neighborhood kids! I think the latter. See you soon Les!
The rudest service I have ever had!. I went there with my mom and 18 month old son and was yelled at by the owner to get out, that he didn't need any strollers in there and then he slammed the door behind us. Judging by the name of the deli we thought it would be a kid friendly place to have lunch. We were wrong! Please pass this review along to other moms with kids looking for a place to have a nice lunch. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!
Reliable & Tasty. I recently hired Papa's Place to cater a dinner party and they proved to be very reliable. The food quality was superb. There were no missteps - everything was exactly as I had ordered it. I would hire these people again in a heartbeat. Les Goetz, the owner/chef is a class act. Oh, and try the cookies! Outstanding!!
