Everybody's Gone!
by laura98029 at Citysearch
Although I did manage to find something I was specifically looking for in a store, there's really nothing of interest to me left in Gilman Village. All but 1 of my favorite stores is gone. The economy has really taken a toll on this Issaquah treasure. It's a shame.
A Whole New Village

The old-timer looking for Gilman Village of another era didn't see all the new shops and great dining experiences the place now offers. Creighton Edwards has one of the most charming design and specialty food shops in the region. There isn't a better fine restaurant in Issaquah than Iris Grill (and a wonderful happy hour). I love Daisy for womens' fashions. And I can't resist Spoiled by Nana for childrens' clothing and gifts. Oh, and the exotic tea shop.
Every long-loved establishment changes over time. I think the Village is as beautiful as ever and the new shops are giving it a new appeal.
DISAPPOINTED! What has happened to this place?

I am shocked by what has happened to this lovely shopping center. I went looking for a specific store only to find out it had moved and I can honestly say I am not suprised. The Gilman Village of memory is gone. There are so many empty stores it looks like a ghost town in the middle of the Christmas season. My fondest memories of the village were the specialty stores like Mykens pet store, Grass Roots, Made in Washington, and the Country Moose. One by one these stores have moved out of gilman village. I don't know what has happened to this center but it is very unfortunate.
