Best chinese Food!

by Ffemspirit at Citysearch

i LOVE this restaurant! The service is fast , prices are VERY reasonable! Can not beat thier lunch special. I have eaten at alot of Chinese food places as well and find this one to be my all time favorite. I LOVE their vegetable chow mien. They are not chatty Cathies but are very fast with their service. To me that is most important when I go to eat somewhere. They are always busy when I go as well. I have lots of friends that love this place too!

Not what it used to be.

Tai-ho USED to be great with good service and wonderful food but unfortunately things have changed.

The prices have gone up while the portions have gone down (pick one but not both). The service is about as surly as you can get. I still love their noodles but no longer take friends there for a night out and mostly dine there by myself as it is not a "fun" dining experience.

I did give it two stars because their lunch specials, starting at $5.50, are a good value and served very quickly so you can get a good, cheap lunch with minimal interaction with the staff. They still draw a decent crowd at lunch time so the food is hot and fresh but like I said I no longer bring my friends here as it just is not a pleasant dining experience for the money, other than lunch.

Shockingly bland and tasteless!! Keep away.

Okay, I've eaten at tons of Chinese restaurants around Seattle, Kenmore, Renton, Shoreline, Burien, Tukwila, Bothell, and other areas and other states. This restaurant has the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. We ordered the dinner for 7, which came with 4 different dishes of Chicken. The chicken was awful. They all tasted the same...very bland. The soup had zero taste, we had to add pepper, salt, and soy sauce just to make the egg flower soup more flavorful. But the white rice was okay -- who can mess that up?!? We had the mongolian beef, which was bland also. The shrimp dish had a lot of flour cooked with the shrimp, but the veggies were okay. The mushu pork was smothered with veggies, little pork, tons of green onions. If you can avoid this restaurant, do so. The Nu-Lite Chinese restaurant down the street was much much better (with better service). We paid well over $100 for a very disappointing meal. Our party agreed that we should have went to Jack in the Box and spent our $100 there. Sorry, didn't try the noodles like other people.

  • Pros: Fast service, empty restaurant
  • Cons: Not friendly service, poor food

Ta-ta Tai-Ho

I agree with the last reviewer, place is no longer as good as it used to be. I tried this place because a friend mentioned she liked their noodles. Being a Chinese restaurant owner in the past, I had to give it a try. I invited a friend to join my family of 4. She arrived a few minutes before us, so she let the hostess/owner know we were going to be 7. The owner gave my friend a rude welcome when she found out we had 4 kids in our group. When I arrived and mentioned we were 7 total, she replied, "I KNOW!" and seated us with an unwelcoming attitude. We ordered 3 entrees to start. Fried Almond Chicken, Beef with asparagus, and mixed noodles. The chicken was bland and tasteless with an okay batter and tasteless brown gravy with tiny crushed almonds on top. I ordered this dish with fried rice for $.50 more. The amount of fried rice was small and forgettable. The mixed noodle dish had very little vegetables and meats. It surprised me when it was served with a heaping side of rice, about half of the plate. I was expecting a plate of only noodles with meat and vegetables as it is normally served in many Chinese restaurants. When I asked the waitress if she would bring me the side of noodles for the extra $1, she looked at me as if I was crazy and said rudely that the side of noodles will cost $3.50 because I didn't order the noodle dish with extra noodles earlier. The beef with asparagus serving was small and it was a bit on the greasy side. The price for the beef dish was higher than the others, $7.95 compared to $5.95 for the chicken and $5.50 for the small size mixed noodles. I ended up ordering another mixed noodle with extra noodles for $1 more since we didn't enjoy the fried almond chicken. The plate of noodles was not much larger than the first one, another disappointment. Willl not come back again.

Pros: Fast service, you can have your soup and entree at the same time. Cons: Portions are smaller, greasier, rude hostess/owner, and unhappy servers.
