Very disappointed. Awful food, terrible service..
They only get one star because I cant give them zero.Entire place was eerily empty, it also felt dark and dirty.
Our server was clearly a rookie and not ready to handle tables on his own.
We were informed they were out of cheese sticks, when he brought half of our order to us and ASKED if it was ok that he took the othe half off the bill. First of all, why did it take so long to tell us you were out, and second, it is a foregone conlusion, so I thought that, you do not charge for food not delivered.
The blooming onion thing was overcooked, and tasteless.
It took almost an hour after we finished our appitizers for them to finally bring our food. The Prime rib clearIy had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. It was oredered med-well, but was almost rare inside.
The "smoked' ribs were terrible. Not smoked at all, They tasted like they were cooked in an oven and tossed in bbq sauce. No seasoning, no flavor. Very dissapointed as I expected a place like this to be a step above The Ram or Denny's, or even IHOP.
A group of people seated after us was served and finished before we got our entrees.
Our server was trying to stall by bringing extra napkins and silverware, all of which was dirty, my glass of water had crap floating in it.
I don't know what happened to this place recently but I remember many years ago, this used to be one of the best places to get bbq. Now it would be a great candidate for Restaurants Impossible, or Kitchen Nightmares. This place is not well run at all. Long Horn in Auburn is better by leaps and bounds in food and service, and they aren't even a favorite of mine.…
New Management. This place was much better this time when I went to go watch some football over the weekend. The food was better, the service was better. I asked the waitress about it and she told me that they have new management. It shows this place is fun and I will go back.…
Great Meeting Rooms.
Started a NEW Referral Group that meets here every Thursday at 12:00. HD Hotspurs has been very willing to work with us. They have accommodated small menus with small prices! On average there is
about 12 of us and we feel with time we may be up to 40 this room would be able to accommodate this situation as well as offer us some great bar-B-Q.

Much to be desired - BEWARE. If you enjoy 2 plus days of literal "gut wrenching" food poisoning symptoms please by all means, enjoy some of their food. Worst of all when I confronted them with my "issue" they really didn't care. They offered some gift cards for some more of their awful food. No refund and no apology. Really? Like I'll ever eat here again. I ate the potato salad and baby-back ribs. Within 25 mins of eating this, I was heaving in the bathroom and the torture of complete GI distress did not subside until the beginning of day 3. For all you skeptics out there, I didn't eat anything else within 12 hours of eating this so it was their food, nothing else that made me sick. I ate here in early Nov 2010. I eat out weekly, trust me this is the worst place for meal prep, quality, taste of food and overall attitude of staff I've ran across in a very long time. Very disappointed indeed.…
Go if you like Burnt Ribs.
We went to HD Hotspurs last night and it was awful.
It was over 80 degrees outside and the restaurant must be trying to save money because it was just as hot inside. The waitress was ok, not rude but not much of a personality. We ordered ribs and they were burnt, so burnt, you could not cut into them and there was little meat.When we let our waitress know, she took them to the kitchen. We were sitting next to the open kitchen and one of the cooks said ?oh well, that is the way they are?. The waitress said they can cook something else but all the ribs are prepared the same way. So, for future patrons?.your ribs will be burnt.
The manager came to our table and said he thought the ribs look wonderful and he would eat them (think he may need glasses?) We asked for him to bring our food back to the table so we could demonstrate how the knife could not cut into the ribs and so we could scrape the charcoal off. He still said that is the way they are cooked. He went on to say that we could order something other than ribs but that is what we came for, so we declined. He never once apologized or showed any customer service skills. He definitely acted like we were full of it.
The staff needs to take some cooking and customer service classes.…
