Great Food. Questionable owner commitment. I only hope that Wild Wheat managment reads these reviews, as I feel they could be helpfiul keeping this place around. I am a first time customer and possibly a one timer. I had the spinach & feta quiche with potatoes and toast. Potatoes and coffee were great! Quiche was made with cheddar not feta. (feta is not yellow and does not become stringy when hot). Server Mary was nice but brought me catsup and tabasco bottles that had their lables worn almost off and looked like they were dirty from the rubish bin. I wouldn't touch them.

Pretty good food but overpriced. We went there on Mother's Day. We had a great waitress. The food was good, but I think it is pricey, and you can definitely find better deals. The eggs benedict I had was on toast that was so hard I had a very hard time sawing it with my fork. The potatatos are good, but I guess I wouldn't give it the reviews which brought me to the restaurant in the first place.

Yummy. What a wonderful breakfast. I had the pleasure of eating at Wild Wheat on a busy Saturday morning with three tweenagers. The Eggs Benedict was the best I ever had, and sadly that includes my own. Which up until this point was my favorite. Even the kids ages 11-14 all admired the wonderful flavors they experienced. I would eat here every Saturday morning if I could afford it, but this was worth the experience. The owner Mark was very gracious, we was hosting as we walked in, and even came over towards the end of our meal to check on us. We enjoyed Wild Wheat, and I will be back with my Fiance next time.

Food Okay, Prices High. Wild Wheat is a Kent favorite, and is almost always packed. The women in my family as well as friends go there regularly as a weekend get-together. But lately the quality is hit or miss.

The last time I was there the holandaise sauce was thin, runny, with almost no lemon. It should be rich, creamy, thick, with a hint of lemon. There was no seasoning on the home fries. Usually I love the fruit on the plate but it was warm and covered in hollandaise which made it unappetizing.

My friend had french toast and there were little eggshell peices in it. She would have sent it back but she lost her appetite over it.

In the visit before that my mom had the blintzes and she loved them. She said the pancakes were very thin, and the stuffing was perfectly sweet. My sister had an omlet that she said was really good - fluffy and well stuffed with veggies and cheese. My eggs florentine were still so-so, with runny hollandaise on thin bread that was so dry around the edges I couldn't cut it with a knife. That dry bread thing mystified me because the bread wasn't toasted.

I took home a cinnamon roll and it was very dry. My friend got a loaf of bread which was also dry. Save your money on the baked goods and give them a miss.

The service was pretty good, which surprised me seeing each waitperson had so many tables to serve and the place was so packed. They really hustled. Though I still had to wait a bit long to pay my bill. I finally walked up front to the cashier and paid it.

Wild Wheat is still worth a visit, because overall it has yummy food, but it doesn't meet the standard of excellence I was hoping for and had come to expect. At the prices they charge (about $20-$25 total per person for breakfast), I expect the food to be great every time.

Fresh breads not fresh!. Gone way down hill recently, this owner does not care about his customers, employees or quality control. All the bread is baked the night before and sits on the shelf all night long til morning, so that would be day old prices doesn't seem fresh now does it? The Pain au levain used to taste like sourdough now it's just BLAH, did we lose the sourdough starter? Also rosemary garlic bread shouldn't have chunks of garlic rolled on the outside of the loaf. Have bought many loaves from PCC Markets in the seattle area and quality control is non existant. Also employees don't look like they like working there and it shows, should they be texting or preparing meals for the customers. And is the restaurant food FRESH and what about the bread basket tastiers, are they the returns from the stores? Stay away from the nasty quiche and the cookies that are left out all day near grimy hands and peoples mouths. Better off going down the street to Panera and picking up fresh bread, bagels made right and fresh soup. Time to sell Mark!

Yummm so delicious. Love Wild Wheat! We recently moved to Kent and heard good things nonstop about Wild Wheat. We've been a few times and everything was always great. the servers are attentive, friendly and quick. The Latte was HUGE and super hottt! The blintzes, pancakes, potatoes... good, great, fabulous. Personal fave is the eggs benedict. Their Hollandaise is to die for. I have only sampled a few goodies from their heavenly bakery. Sooo tempting! Everything looks great, fresh and smells heavenly. It is a little noisy. The noise bounces around in there, but we could still hold a conversation. The kids meals are fab too. Always a plus for those with little ones.

gone downhill in the past couple of years. I used to go here all the time with my girlfriends and we got friendly with some of the staff that we saw on a regular basis. The owner started treating them really badly and ended up either driving them away or docking their hours. The food is decent, but it's way over priced for what it is. So without our friendly regulars we really didn't have a reason to go back. I am vegan and could pretty much only ever order the potatoes or oatmeal and bread, and when I asked the owner about including a tofu scramble or something he said he would and all we had to do was ask the next time we were in. But we did and there was nothing. Never was. So I don't go anymore and some of my friends have said it's just not what it used to be. Too bad. Sounds like there might be good servers there now, but it's too late for me.

wowed!!!!. i just have to say i went in for my first time ever today. just happened to be passing by and said hey why not. upon entering i was immediatly greeted by the women behind the counter. she let me sit where i pleased i was then greeted by my wonderful server rose. who did an amazing job by the way. attentive and just downright sweet!!!! i ordered a coffee not only was it gorgeous but it was the best latte i HAVE EVER had. when i went up to pay i had a sweet tooth and asked for a reccomendation. boy did i ever get one WOW. rachel spent 20 minutes telling me about all the wonderful goodies answering all my pesky questions and even gave me a tutorial on coffee. again i say WOW. this girl knew her stuff. because of her i ended up buying 75 worth of goodies to go home and try. thank you you ladies so much for the experiance i will be back again and again and again

In Agreement with the Previous Reviewer. Like the last reviewer, we were disappointed that the breakfast toast came unbuttered. The butter doesn't melt into toast unless it goes on when it's hot. We visited during a weekday, the room wasn't crowded, but it was noisy and hard to hear conversation. I think that's just the room, too many hard surfaces. The food was very good, though, the coffee good and the waitress refreshed our cups often. We will return to buy bread.

Unique menu, food was delicious!. This small cafe attracts quite a crowd on a Sunday morning. We waited about 10 minutes for a table, with the hostess checking in with us twice to let us know our status.

The coffee was weak, but that aside, the food was wonderful. Attentive wait staff kept refills going of the weak coffee. I ordered the Quiche Lorraine; I've never seen anything like it -- had to be about 1/4 of the pie! It was freshly prepared and unparalleled to any quiche I've been served. It came with potatoes, toast and a small piece or two of fruit.

My husband ordered a smoked salmon omelette and it was also delicious. A few things that could have been better -- the toast is not buttered, it's a small thing admittedly...they leave it for the guest to do. I mentioned the weak coffee; due to the extraordinary number of guests there, the food was a bit delayed, but warm and tasty upon arrival.

My only real disappointment was not being able to be heard by the other couple we were with. I probably wouldn't go there again with that particular purpose in mind on a Sunday morning. But I will be back. And I say five stars for the food -- it is something to experience.
