Full-service gym offers weights, cardio equipment, sauna, steam room, classes and personal training, open for most hours of the day..
In Short
With classes ranging from 24 Hour Tease, a sexy strip aerobic class, to the more subdued Vinyasa flow yoga and butt-kickin' boot camp, this active sports club is packed with health conscious (and some insomniac) gym goers. Stocked with the latest cardio and weight-training equipment, this gym cranks up the pumping music, flicks on the Plasma TV sets, and lets fitness fanatics work out according to their own schedule. With affordable rates and a friendly, knowledgeable staff, personal training is another tangible get-fit option. And while the moniker is somewhat misleading, on most days the door is open for at least nineteen hours--not too shabby.
Dump. I've been going to this club purely for ease of commute. They do little if any maitenance to this place. Equipment is never updated, water fountains are broken and remain so for months, bathrooms are disgusting to put it midly. Half the time there are no paper towels to wash your hands and they just recently started offering products to clean the machines. The treadmills are also broken down frequently and when you ask the staff when they will get fixed, the just smirk and shrug their shoulders. This place will probably fall down during the next wind storm or light earthquake. Total dump!
Filthy, with no fresh air.. I've been going to the Kirkland location for about a month because of the convient location. But I've had enough. I'd rather drive 20 min. to the next nearest gym than have to work out in the most unpleasent gym I've ever been in. the air quality is stifiling. The equipment is run down and dated. Just trying to adjust the seats on any of them is a workout. I would never recommend using the womens bathroom/sauna/steamroom with all the mold around the sinks and the 1950 linolium flooring. You'd think they could put a little of the money the bring in back into the gym. The carpeting throughout the entire place is stained and so nasty looking, I call it 24 hour fungus. If your thinking about going, skip it, its depressing. Note the reviews on this gym are several years old.
Simple, Effective but be ware of Staff. It's relatively inexpensive; the monthly dues and start up fees are reasonable. They have machines and exercise classes (although the schedule is unreliable), no pool or courts but a sauna, steam room and hot tub. My one (large) complaint, is the adminstrative incompetence and obnoxious sales pitches of the staff. Except for one assistant manager who seems to have his head screwed on straight, I've been subjected to persistent and lengthy sales pitches reminscent of an AT&T wireless telesales call (you almost have to be rude to put an end to it). Administratively, it's worse. They asked me to SIGN A FORM for them to change a TYPO in my name. Makes you wonder. Once in the door, it's a great place to get jazzed up and shed those extra pounds.
