small, unkept, clutterd, messy and unprofessional! my first impressions with the staff were less than positive. The daycare was extremely stuffy and poorly lighted, and sooo cluttered when i walked in. and there was NO air circulating throught the building. It smelled unpleasant, and Pat was less than friendly when I first met her. She walked past me and even though she saw me when I first entered, she didn't say hello or have a smile. She didn't even bother to look behind her when she said to me "I'll be right with you". Then as I proceeded to answer her question as to weather or not my child was potty trained, when I has said he was not 'fully" but he had no problems at his previous daycare, she shook her head and seemed to say in a rude tone that "at his age he should already be potty trained, and that if he were to come here, and have an accident, that would be grounds for terminating his enrollment". I thought "wow you really are being too hard on him already". She said this was cause there was no changing tables in the preschool room, and that kids his age should use the potty already". I have worked in a daycare and this situation would of not been a problem. In my experience, we have 3 and 4 year olds that are not fully potty trained and therefore, we send them to the toddler room to get changed! They SHOULD be potty trained when they are 4 and a half, and definetly by the time they are 5. My child JUST turned 4. Litterally. There was also a young women there who was a "teacher", or provider, who was in uniform, she was whining, literally, whining to the front desk lady about her not getting her lunch yet. She reminded me of a teenager, and she was a teacher. these young women that are in charge of our children should be emotionally mature as well, and not act like such spoiled brats!
Pros: convenience to all KINGSGATE residence
Cons: small, stuffy smelly. Not something I would want my kid in 8 hours a day.
