Redmond >Vertical World
You won't be roped-in at this Eastside bouldering base..
Beginning climbers may find the more relaxed atmosphere of the Redmond gym more inviting than the Seattle location, and on the whole, the routes are a good deal easier. But if you've never been here, you're in for a load of frustration just trying to find it. Like its sister gym in Seattle, this club is nearly impossible to locate (even by locals!) without good directions from a knowledgeable employee. Call ahead
Although at 7,000 square feet it's only three-quarters the size of the Seattle location, the Redmond Vertical World is just as well-maintained and laid-out, and the opportunities for bouldering (climbing without ropes) are even better. In fact, only two walls are set aside for top-roping or leading, with the rest of the gym's walls only reaching 16 feet or so.
Good for beginners. This gym is much less intimidating than Seattle. Even though it's small it's good for beginners and people who love bouldering. Go to seattle if you love leading though. There is only one leading route there. The service is very friendly and like the other two vertical worlds, the panels are awesome to climb on. It's the features. You won't find this at any rock gym accept a vertical world. There are various restaurants and grocery stores around the redmond area where the rock gym is located. I will reccomend taco del mar. I love their borritos. The tacos and borritos average around four dollars a meal per person but you get a lot. yummy.
