Tips for Emerald City Gymnastics Academy

By far the worst management. Hosted my daughter's party today and had the worst experience ever. The party co-ordinator was so disorganised and the coaches were extremely unprofessional. They moved us to a smaller party room in the last minute. We were alloted 2 coaches, one of who was never around to help..I would never recommend this place to anybody, definitely not for parties....Im furious. The only thing going for them is Coach Megan. She is wonderful.

Though not a lot of personal experience with management, I've seen and heard enough that I'm not surprised at some of the comments. Coach Megan though is fantastic! She gives private lessons to my 6 yo daughter and my daughter adores Megan and is becoming quite the gymnast. Karen at the front desk is always pleasant and helpful too.

Don't send your young children. My child just attended first time in a class. Tthe coach was just a teenager and gave no proper instruction to her and showed no interests in teaching to young kids. The worst thing is that my kid came home injured herself. Also, there were too many kids in such a small area. There are far less number of properly trained instructors per kids. For the same price, you can let your kids learn in safer environment with properly trained instructors somewhere else.

I'VE BEEN TO THEM ALL. If you've been to other gyms on the Eastside, you will know that Emerald City Gymnastics is the place to be. The facility is clean, the instructors are personal and very well trained, and the kids all seem to have a great time. From birthday parties, to open gyms, to regular weekly classes I have been nothing but impressed! Highly recommended!

ECGA. I would not recomend ECGA. The ownership has not been able to hold onto coaches. The only coaches that stay are relatives. The owner lies and behaves as someone who has stayed in the gym all her life and does not know how to interact with people. The gym is run like a high school click. The fact that the club is a non-profit but does not pay back the families when coaches quit has to be called into question. The owner is apparently more interested in filling her pockets than making the gymansts olympic athletes which is the USGA mandate.

Great Changes for ECG. I have seen great improvement in the Emerald City Program. We have been with ECG for quite some time. The gym recently switched over to new management/ownership and the change has been incredible. The gym has a different atmosphere that is exciting and positive for the kids and the addition of the 2nd facility is wonderful.

My child has been in the preschool program from the very beginning, starting in the Parent & tot class and is now in "Munchkins" for 4-5 year olds. Coach Kari has done a great job heading the preschool department, the classes before were basically organized play and now Kari has given the program a curriculum and the kids are learning more than ever.

New owners have a done a great job and am extremely satisfied with the turn around.

unprofesional management. My experice with emerald city gymnastics academy has given me an impression of very poor, unprofesional managment. To anyone who is looking into gymnastics I would not recomoned ecga.

Waste of Time and Money. My daughter was going to the Redmond location for 3 months - with no progress to show for. They managed to take away all her interest in Gymnastics. We were keen to see her progress since she joined somewhat late, but we never got any feedback how to improve her, after repeated tests. The thing that bothered me was the disinterested instructors, as if just doing there duty. It was kind of pathetic. The last straw was a kind of indirect disparaging remark towards my daughter by a substitute instructor. My younger son was also enrolled and their class didn't do much more than playing around. We pulled them both out and now they go to other activities which are more professional and exciting. We complained about the remark and they promised to do something, but too late for my daughter's morale.
