The Experience – Built on a sprawling Woodinville estate, the Redhook Brewery is enchantingly perfect with all aspects intricately planned. Hops grow on wooden trellises surrounding the beer garden. The tour area, though not extensive, was designed with a presentation in mind. The 40 minute experience begins in a spacious room with tables for setting tasting glasses down between fills as the guide relays the brewery's story, with the occasional Ballard joke (where Redhook began). After the brewery's history and an explanation of the distribution process, you'll move into another area to…

Redhook

Went here w. my husband. We took the brewery tour which is a steal at only $1 AND you get almost 3pints of beer during the tour AND a free glass. Our tour guide was hilarious. We had lunch afterwards. The menu wasnt the best. And I really didnt enjoy my food. It took the waitress awhile to even see we needed refills but I noticed that she was working the entire restaurant pretty much alone. The store is fairly inexpensive too. It was fun but I would definately only go on the tour if you're in the mood for a younger crowd getting tipsy and yelling random things out. Still it was worth the $1!@

Eat the nachos!

by actionshots at Citysearch

I went to this restaurant with my family and they go there quite a bit. We were seated right away with a group of 6 at 6:30 or so, which is a rarity these days. Service was great and our drinks were always refilled right on cue. There was music playing but it wasn't overpowering and the dining room is spread out enough that you don't have to worry about hitting anyone's chair or overhearing conversations.

I had the french dip sandwich, which was tasty BUT my sister had the half-size forecaster nachos. Let me tell you, the half-size is enough nachos for at least three or four people and they are beyond tasty. I am thinking about going back just for those alone!

  • Pros: Easily accessible, parking, NACHOS

Great for groups of people

by seattlite83 at Citysearch

I have been to RedHook so many times, I have almost the whole collection of sample glass colors. Why do I keep coming back? The staff at the brewery all love what they do and it is contagious. Even if you are not a fan of the brew you will leave with a greater appreciation for the process and care that they put into what they create at RedHook. Above all, I highly recommend taking the tour. If you have time during the off hours (ie. middle of the day during the week) take the tour then because it is so much more fun with a smaller group. Afterwards, please take some time to stop for their giant nachos piled high with toppings (you'll need a friend or two to help if you get a full order) and be sure to finish the experience off with a porter float (AKA Bryan's Black Bovine).

Tour and restaurant

by aleksandr111 at Citysearch

Take the tour! It?s a lot of fun, one dollar and they give you a bunch of much beer. It?s about an hour, the guides are usually funny dudes that give you the history of Red Hook and the basic process about how beer is made. Do it, it?s really a lot of fun to do with friends and even better the more you drink!

The restaurant is fine, pretty ordinary stuff, but of course the beer is great ? so just get some beers and something to munch.

  • Pros: Best tour in town
  • Cons: It's not in Ballard any more.
