I have never been treated so rude by a manager at a store...
I recently went to return a camera I bought at Target in Woodinville WA..I called to verify they would return it and they said no problem...yes they would...I drove the hour to get there...went to the return counter and the nice employee helped me in the process to return it...they said it would take a little while to do so and perhaps I could go shop for 30m or so...I did...I left the camera at the counter with the employee thinking it would be ok and that I would simply come back in 30m to finish the transaction as agreed...when I came back the manager...Heather...was there with another women...both said they were the manager and that I could not return it...period. Heather then told me that I should not have brought the camera back in the bag I had put the camera in as it was an expensive piece of equipment...and that she could not return it...dont think she liked me...at all...I had the receipt and the upc and had just purchased it from Target...when I went to get the camera that had been sitting on the counter I noticed it was wide open with the lense detached...Pieces everywhere..leaving the vulnerable part open to dust..fingers..particles etc..when I mentioned it...she blamed an employee...I am very unhappy with the manager...Heather ...she was rude to me...made me feel as if I was a criminal that stole the camera and was trying to return it unlawfully...she glared at me and obviously just did not like me personally and was going to let it be known...and every question I asked her she answered with "No" ....when I asked to speak to someone else or get her name she refused...I am a very nice and forgiving person and have never been treated as demeaning as this...I was given no solution except to leave...so I called Target Lake Stevens...they said no prob they could return it...whew...so I went there and when they put it into the system it said it was returned already to Woodinville store!!!!! They called the Woodinville store and asked them to correct this problem but they said they could not..mmm....I had to wait til the next day to come back and finally the wonderful people at Lake Stevens Target were able to complete the transaction...! I will never go back to this Target ever again...from now on I will go to Lake Stevens Target...where they actually manage instead of judge
I have had a lot of frustration at this store recently. Please be sure to check your receipts after you are charged or keep a hawk's eye on what the checker is doing. They have double charged me 3x in the last 2 months for items.
I have also been overcharged for items where price tags on the rack were placed deceptively. To their credit, they have remedied that each time after bringing it to their attention.
The biggest issue I had recently was a staff member being rude to my child. I understand their policy of asking kids to stop doing certain things for liability reasons and I have no problem with that. What I have a problem with is a staff member (essentially a stranger) being rude and snappy at my child who is standing a little too close to a clothing rack. It's uncalled for.
When issues have been brought to a manager's attention, one of them stood there and apologized over and over like a robot. Not offering to do anything to remedy things until I suggested she do so. That smacks of inexperience.
