In Short
The winery is the descendent of Associated Vintners (AV), a group of amateur winemakers that bonded a winery in 1962. After many moves, the winery settled in its current grand Victorian manor in Woodinville in 1989. Columbia's offering of wines is extensive, including nearly all Washington-grown varieties in several styles. Its vineyard-designated cabernet, chardonnay and other varietals have won rave reviews and many awards at festivals and fairs.

We had such a great time at this winery. The staff were fun and super wine savy - the wines were beautiful especially the Barbera, Syrah and Riesling. They are remodeling and the results thus far are a WOW factor. They took us on a sneak preview and of the completed banquet rooms - gorgeous - wish I were getting married! We will definitely go back SOON!

Very nice winery, but not for the wine - its for the ambiance. Don't confuse this place with Columbia Crest, which actually has good wine. I thought this was a tourist trap, selling over-priced wine

The Columbia Winery produces some of the finest wines of the region. It is no longer overshadowed by competitors such as Chateau Ste. Michelle. Columbia has really come into its own. Be sure to take the wine tour and get all of your free samples. The grounds are beautiful and the setting is in rural Woodinville (although quite close to downtown). I understand they are building a wine village in Woodinville and I am sure it's going to draw even more wine enthusiasts.
