In Short – They're one of Seattle's most famous landmarks: the Pike Place Market fish tossers. Occupying the corner of the Market under the sign, these robust fishmongers are well-known for yelling orders and tossing fish, relay-style, to the appropriate member of their team. They've even translated their teamwork into a successful series of corporate videos and workshops. The stand itself features artfully displayed fish packed on ice, with a selection ranging from salmon to scallops.
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- They will ship their fish to anywhere in the US, and also deliver to local downtown hotels.
- The Extras:
- Order a "Fresh Gift Pack" for that special someone--a gift box with a seven-pound salmon, whole cooked Dungeness crab, and a piece of alderwood-smoked salmon.
Great selection and quality

Want the freshest sushi in town? Make it yourself! I've purchased some excellent sashimi-grade Ahi tuna at this fish market. It's priced reasonably, and for no extra charge they gave me a cut from the belly area which is prized for its darker color, deeper flavor, and higher fat content. I haven't bought much else from here, but the selection is pretty good and everything seems very fresh.
- Pros: Good selection, fresh fish!
- Cons: Prices are always reasonable , but not always the cheapest
