Three Girls Never Again. never. again. i'm a local who usually eats here in the seated area, but today ordered from the "tourist" window to go. when i asked to have my sandwich grilled, the employee acted irritated that he had to deal with it and told me that it would cost $1 to grill it.... what!?! never paid it before, but the attitude that came with it was extreme and entirely unacceptable. all in all -opportunistic, bad service, plenty of other places to eat in the market. do yourself a favor... spend your money at michou. better sandwiches. much better service. btw, they don't charge you to grill your sandwich. what a joke.

worth it. We visit every time we are in Seattle(at least twice a year) and have NEVER had a bad meal there. We've always been treated quite nice and the staff, when asked, have always provided excellent advice on what to do when in this great city. I definitely recommend a visit.

The Truth about Three Girls. While it is true that Three Girls gets many of their breads from other bakeries around Seattle; they do bake their own pastries and cookies at their Ballard location, which are then delivered to Pike Place daily.

good food but bad customer service. I have eaten here every time I go to Pikes Market. The food has always been good but the staff has never been pleasant. On my latest trip I had taken some out of town guests. They were taken back by the rude behavior displayed by the waitress. She had a serious attitude problem. She wouldn't give any recomendations and talked down to my guests for asking questions. She acted as if their food was soooo good that we should feel privelaged to eat there, as if she was doing us a favor. After we placed our order and witnessed this rude behavior I cancelled our order and walked out. As I was walking by later I decided to talk with the Manager at the outside window. He took up for his waitress and displayed almost the same attitude. He said he would speak with her concerning this matter but he wasn't very believable. I would like to point out that I have never left a restaurant after placing an order before. Being a former bartender I treat all wait staff with respect as I know how hard their job is. So, if you can get past the negative attitude of the workers, and small eating area, the sandwiches are large and filling. I will never eat there again and I would not recommend this restaurant.

Home Cookin' but better. We got there at 11 am and counter was open. Able to talk to workers...very nice and casual. Lots of recommendations. I had a simple grilled cheese and their veggie black bean soup with a hard roll. Wonderful. Friend had BLT and Chowder..also good. Wish we had paid as soon as we got the food because the place filled up FAST!!! Lots of regulars which is a good sign. I am a food snob and will go again.

Great food, friendly service. On a recent visit to Seattle, my wife & I stopped here several times. The pastrami & corned-beef sandwiches are some of the best you'll get outside of NYC, plus -they don't raise an eyebrow if you want cheese (including Tilamook Cheddar) on it . The meatloaf sandwich was great-- like something grandma would put together for a picnic. All served on tasty fresh baked bread. My wife said the chocolate covered coconut cookie, was the best cookie ever. All the baked goods were top quality, and we tried quite a few.

Early on a weekday morning this is one of the few places open at Pike Place Market, and we had a good cup o'joe & a fresh baked bagel, served by a gentleman, who was one of the frendliest, service-oriented people we've encountered in many years of travel. In tourist mobbed Pike Market, it was very refreshing to find staff so helpful and cheerful.

A must try!. I was introduced to Three Girls Bakery a couple of years ago by a friend of mine, who was in love with their chocolate drop cookies. Now crazy about it myself--although my main addiction are their amazing pretzels--Three Girls is the one place I invariably go to on my infrequent trips into Seattle. Their pretzels are phenomenal, nothing at all like the cheap, microwave kind you're going to get at a mall or movie theater. These are true German-style bakery pretzels, made from fresh bread and cooked in an oven. Also worth noting are the Snickerdoodle and Oatmeal Raisin cookies, their scones, and the Russian Wedding Cookies, which I usually can't resist buying either. But really, you can't go wrong with anything you see there!!

Portable sandwiches and other goodies from a Pike Place standby.. In Short
From a tiny window in front of the Sanitary Market Building, Three Girls daily sells hundreds of cookies, scones, croissants, rolls and bread loaves, all supplied by other bakers. Sandwiches don't get a whole lot more popular than this, and "whole" is the operative word: "No halves," the hardworking, wisecracking architects of meat and cheese will say. Grab a cookie or lemon bar to finish off the meal.

Great bakery, good sandwiches!. The bakery is great, the atmosphere is very typical Seattle: friendly, crowded at times, fast paced, and delightful. Everything is fresh and sometimes you have to go early because they do run out of certain highly coveted breads and treats.

The sandwich was a surprise to us but it was listed as #3 in the top 10 best sandwiches in Seattle. Honestly, it beats Subway and Quiznos any day, I had a Reuben sandwich and my wife had a Turkey with Swiss both on Sourdough, and it was pretty darn good. What makes it good is their quality/choice of meats, the fresh bread, and the condiments of course. As simple as a sandwich is, it comes down to the choice of ingredients. Combine that with the nice atmosphere of Pike Place Market (flying fishes, crowds and events) and you'll know why Three Girls Bakery is known by many.

fresh bakery has a special place in my heart. While you do have to fight through the market crowd, this is the perfect lunch spot for a egg salad sandwich on black rye with lettuce tomato (a little onion), havarti, some dijon and horse. the meatloaf and cornbeef are pretty tasty too. Basically a more wholesome alternative to the sub-places all over town and you can pick up some of the best bakery, sweets in town. If you dont want to wait at the window, pop into the bar area, grab a stool, and get it to go...
