Desert Fire has outside seats looking into the atrium of Pacific Place.Peeled-pine poles and faux sandstone half-walls and pillars mark this Pacific Place outpost of a Texas-based chain as a destination for Southwestern-style cuisine. This is the second Desert Fire in the Seattle area. The first opened in early 1998 in Redmond Town Center. This one is situated on the top floor of the mall's vast atrium, not far from the 11-screen Pacific Place 11 movie theaters. – – Desert Fire aims for a rustic appeal, both in decor and in food. BAD SERVICE for such an upscale place

This use to be my favorite Happy Hr spot...until tonight! They pulled off their Happy Hour menu & now only offer 3 food items & just $1 off taps. The 4 chicken wings were sizes of my pinky. Not worth it! Especially w/the extremely rude bartender who acted impatient whenever we asked for something. So disappointing! I'll never go back again.
really good

When going to desert fire, get the chicken adovo pasta..never the desert fire pasta! The former is the absolute best pasta I have ever had! It is a little spicy, so you might want to ask for the adovo on the side. The bread is really good. If you get steak or sea food ask for the chile mashed potatoes because they are great and the other potatoes at just ok. The chocolate mousse is also pretty good. The atmosphere is nice adn romantic which is unique because it is in a shopping center! If you pick the right things to order, your experience will be great. Perhaps get the pasta, crab cakes, or the fish tacos, or ask your server what is best. Happy eating
- Pros: qucik wait time, nice atmosphere, good adovo pasta
- Cons: the desert fire pasta, not too cheap
American Food in Latin Disguise
by anitaepler at Citysearch
Not the slightest bit Mexican or even Tex-Mex, but serves passably good bistro fare with the merest hint of a southwestern accent. Imagine your favorite American megachain with an adobo here and a tortilla there. That said, its a good choice while out shopping, but not worth a special trip. Judged solely on its own pretensions and not as a Mexican restaurant, this place succeeds. Decor is surprisingly nice, in an uninspired chain sort of way. Hefty (if not very potent or very good) margaritas.
- Pros: Convenient to shops
- Cons: Basic food, Long wait for tables
No Sloppy Seconds

Ate an early lunch at this restaurant. Service was great...even though there was no one there. The fresh tacos are great. The margarita slaw is excellent especially with the spicy shrimp. It's not too vinegarry, not too sweet, not to cabbagy. The rice and beans left much to be desired. It would not surprised me if it was reheated from the previous day.
- Pros: Good service
- Cons: bad rice
OK service but boring food

Service was not knowledgeable but very courteous. There was just nothing special about any of the food that came to the table. Considering the hefty bill, we expected a lot more.
- Pros: Convenience
- Cons: No Flavor
