Good food at a decent price. I went here with my family for lunch on a Sunday. We all had a great meal with a terrific view of the market and it's activity. My son and daughter absolutely adored the baked macaroni with 3 cheeses. I had a good Rueben and my husband the steak dip. For the price it was a good meal. The server was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We'd definitely go back.
Not worth your time.....
I work downtown so i get so many tourist that tell me "wow everyone downtown is so nice!"
NOT true of pike place bar and grill. They are a disgrace to Seattle's amazing reputation.
They have no idea what customer service is all about, There are a couple nice servers
but it does not make up for one of the hostesses they have. She is absolutely horrid.
The way she treats the customers is shocking, treats them with no respect at all. The food
is always cold when it comes out, it'll sit for 10 minutes before they bring it out. Thats after it
takes them 45 minutes to prepare it. The only reason i ever come back is because they are
one of the few places in downtown that serves breakfast. Once I find another breakfast place
I will never have to step foot in that disgusting place again. (did i mention the decore is stuck
in the 80's?)
In conclusion....If you want a freezing cold meal after waiting for an hour and being seated by
a rude hostess. Then by all means come to this 0 star restaurant that does no justice to
Seattle.
Awful....
This place is the subject of one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. Not only was the service slow slow slow (although our server was sweet), we could see the kitchen and how disorganized it was with plates piling up and waiting to go out, food getting cold. We finally left after watching table after table that ordered after us get served the same thing we ordered (we never even got to eat). When I asked for a refund for items we hadn't gotten, the manager YELLED at me, saying she'd already comped our food (which we never got).
I will NEVER ever go back here. I work in the area and it's a tourist trap and not even a very good one. Ugh.
great beer!.
great food! great beer! great service!
Causual atmosphere, large beer selection, delicious food!
Highly recommended!
Canned Seafood. I'm an ex-employee of the Pike Place Bar&Grill and I can honestly say, if you were satisfied by the food, you aren't a foodie. They are FEET away from fresh seafood and still use CANNED seafood. My first night working at the PPB&G, there were two cases of people calling claiming they or a family member were sick and I took both phone calls (I have no idea how they turned out since the owners took over, as they should have, but I assume it was a settlement). I worked there for about a year and NEVER once saw any repeat business except in the bar, which is fun for locals (great view of Rachel, the pig that is a bank at the heart of the market, please don't sit on her if you're past grade school). This place is the Space Needle; it's a tourist trap and will never get local business. It's got a great view of the market but no patio seating. If you're visiting Seattle you want to see the bay, not the Market from a window. You'd do much better eating at Ivars, il Bistro, or head over to Wild Ginger (fantastic asian food) on Union and 3rd. They don't have the view of Elliot Bay either, but they have really good food.
Worst Service Ever. It was a full hour wait for soggy sandwiches and cold fries. Meanwhile we enjoyed watching two unbussed tables laden with rather aromatic uneaten food, other customers ordering and being served, and the busboy vacuuming right next to us. Our waiter apologized a grand total of once and provided two excuses: he didn't notice us and everything was someone else's fault. I think he gave up even trying for a tip after he realized we had been seated for a half hour before he first approached our table.
Nice view. We weren?t planning on eating here but due to Lowell?s not serving food after 6pm (Something about winter hours that aren?t posted well) the waiter recommended this restaurant to our group of 5. Bravo for helpng us out. We were seated promptly near a window looking down on the closing market. It would be nice to sit and people watch when it?s busy. The food was average, not bad, but not memorable. Nice bar area with many local?s. I will continue my search for a better place but may stop in for a drink at a later time.
A quiet, neighborhood-style bar and grill on top of bustling Pike Place Market..
In Short
Elevated one story above the Market (great for people-watching), its natural wood accents and inviting booths combine to provide a welcome hiatus from the hubbub below. The extensive menu features such house specialties as seasonal Northwest seafood, barbecue ribs and Dungeness crab cakes. Fresh soups are offered daily.
breakfast.
we got the crabcakes bennie and the french toast which were great.
it is a nice friendly place with a view of the market.
Pleasant surprise. In the heart of the Public Market. Decent food, friendly service, diner/bar-type atmosphere. Went there for breakfast on New Year's Day and was pleasantly surprised: they were open and the food is good! They have "all you can eat" Belgian waffles--have to try it the next time!
