Editorial Review for Geneva – by Jill Lightner

The Scene
The carved, coved ceiling and softly flattering pastel walls are brightened by the central floral arrangement and original silk-screened art by every table. An elegant central chandelier throws a happy twinkle on every table, reflecting the glow of real silver and linen. People come here for two reasons: to be totally pampered by old-fashioned service and to revel in classically luxurious European cuisine.

The Food
Thinly sliced warm grilled pears are a perfect complement to crunchy pecans and cool escarole for a light starter salad; lobster bisque, drizzled with cream, is lush and packed with sweet meat. Tender veal is accompanied by rosti potatoes, while the lightly breaded rack of lamb comes with Potatoes Anna--the perfect crispy companion to the spicy meat. Indulge in the strudel with caramel sauce--there's not a more perfectly thin pastry anywhere.

User Reviews for Geneva

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

First, I must start off by saying that Geneva is by far the best restaurant I have ever dined at. I have traveled around the globe, and across the US, and have dined in various high class restaurants, but Geneva Restaurant has been the best. They indubitably have the most amazing, and delicious food I have ever tasted. Service exceeded all of my expectations. The staff was very kind and I have no complaints. The chef actually came out and greeted us after our meal; it was a splendid. All in all Geneva was a spectacular experience. The next time I visit Seattle Geneva will most definatley be my first stop.

Pros: Amazing service, spectacular food, wonderful & inviting atmosphere.

I've been to Geneva twice, the first time in late 2006, the second just last week. The first time was wonderful-the food the service, the ambiance and recommened it to everyone. I was extremely surprised when we went last week. We had guests in town and I wanted to show them what a lovely place it was. Our first course was very good. Our main course arrived and one of our guests found that the beef was not cooked to her liking. I spoke to the owner (very nicely) who proceeded to give us a long lecture about how the beef was exactly as we ordered it. It was insulting and rude! They remade the steak (and gave us another lecture). My husbands linguini with scallops had (oddly) very little linguini, but in all fairness my lamb was excellent. I would have given this place an extremely high rating last year, but I will now never go back.

Pros: Lovely atmosphere, good food

Cons: Inconsistent rude service. Parking is horrible
