The Scene
The grand room maintains a relaxed, friendly atmosphere despite its luxe elegance. Tuxedoed gentlemen take their jobs seriously serving martini mavens during afternoon shopping excursions. Oliver's represents old-school cool with gold leaf-framed mirrors, wicker chairs, cafe tables and colossal chandeliers. Drinkers will feel like they've been transported to early 20th-century Europe while meeting with friends for a sedate get-together.

The Draw
A classic menu serves up civilized bar fare such as crab cakes, Stilton salad, lamb dip, soups, salads and burgers. This is the corner bar in Seattle for surveying the rush and roar of the bustling city and feeling oh-so-composed while sipping a martini. Specialty martinis are also available; try the Royal Wedding or the French Kiss.

Oliver's is completely over-rated for many reasons. With its age and the increasing competition it is not the same it used to be. The only thing it has going for it is the free happy hour snacks. The food is terrible unless Andaluca happens to be open while you are there you can order off of that menu (pretty good, but overpriced). The specialty drinks are extremely outdated and I have seen other customers complain about them becasuse they are gross and the classics are made incorrectly. The bartenders are very inexperienced as I don't believe any of them have any prior experience judging from their technique and product knowledge. They claim to make the best martini in Seattle, when a martini is more than just overly shaken gin or vodka served in a big warm glass. One of the bartenders I believe his name was Patrick is extremely annoying and irritating, when I met him it was the last time I will go. Go to Zig Zag or one of the many other bars that cares obout your business.

I live locally but when I want a quick getaway in the city, my husband and I stay here. I love the cozy feeling of the hotel and the bar.

This is the best location in downtown Seattle. It is also the best priced hotel for this class of hotel in downtown. I use to live in Seattle and always walked by this hotel and would look in through the large window where the bar is located and would always want to go inside.
