Moore Hotel

Pictures can be "photo-shopped"!. Wow! Where are the rooms that they show on the website??? This place is out of a bad movie. Rooms were tiny, old, dirty, and hot. The AC was a 5" fan in front of the window that did a great job of bringing in the sounds of the homeless fighting and the urine smell from the alley. TV was about 13". Spent one night in a "Euro Room" - shared bath was OK but only 1 1/2 for about 12 -14 rooms. Own room the next night had a bathroom. Shower was about 2' x 2'. Though close to Pike's Market, 2nd Ave. is a terrible street to do any walking on, especially at night. Now, all that being said, if the website & reviews had been accurate I would not have booked the room. I would love for someone from the Moore Hotel to prove to me that the pictures on the website were actaully taken at this hotel. Pay a little more and look elsewhere!!!…

Matches? we don't need no stinkin matches. :D. Well now, I guess you can't please everyone! I was reading the review by UnagiGirl and I just can't seem to get past it. I have had the pleasure to stay at the Moore on several occasions on my trips to Seattle. Is it the Ritz ? No, you want the Ritz then go there. I knew there was no parking because it is "clearly" stated on their website and when I wrote them a note from their website and asked about parking (important to know) they told me there were lots available and on street parking but not for free. Enough said. You want cool and funky ? Then go to the Moore. People are very helpful and it reminds me very much of a time gone by and Europe. Can't beat the location. The SAM, Pike Place, Seattle Center, Nordstrom, Macy's, Monorail all within walking distance. The bus is free if you want to ride down to the Seahawk Stadium but I love the 10 block walk to Pioneer Square. (that's where the stadium is). All in all, I recommend the Moore hotel to people without hesitation.…

Worst Service in all of Seattle. I booked a room at the Moore for a night. On the website, while booking, one of the very few amenities was free parking, a very huge bonus for downtown. When we pulled up to the hotel loading zone, I asked the front desk person where we could park. He said they actually don't have free parking but do have an agreement for parking up the street at a garage. I asked him if it was free because the website said it was.

He, very tersely said " Its not on the website." He turned his computer screen towards me and said "Where did you see it?" I told him while I was booking the room it was under amenities- he responded that I was wrong. I asked him if the parking was secure because we have had our car broke into right across the street.

His response in a very hostile tone was "I just went over that with you." I told him there was no reason to be assy. He promptly canceled my reservation and told me to go stay somewhere else. I apologized to him-(assy probably wasn't the best word to use but it did best describe his attitude)-he was the one being rude to me- and asked him to please not cancel my reservation. He told me to leave.

Apparently, The Moore Hotel doesn't believe in customer service and thinks that hostility is the way to treat people. The moral of the story is, I didn't stay at the Moore but my review is based on its front desk employee who was rude, hostile and should be let go. There are thousands of people looking for jobs, why would a business keep one who loses customers?…

Really cool place, urban experience. Just a fun vibe at this downtown seattle hotel, lot's of communal space, friendly Euro's staying there, and really walkable to a lot of different places. Very inexpensive too (cheap!), but if you are looking for someplace fancy - look elsewhere…
