In Short – Symbolic of its theatrical roots, the 5th Avenue Theatre has changed its face many times. Opened in 1926 as a vaudeville house and silent-picture palace, its exquisite interior was inspired by ancient Chinese architecture. With a 1989 renovation, the theater became a haven for Broadway musicals. It also hosts a variety of music events, lectures, readings, dance performances and live broadcasts.
