Veterinary center emphasizes personalized care for dogs and cats.
Wonderful people, trustworthy staff
by Barbara Stoner at Citysearch
I have been taking my cats to Dr. Anderson for almost 20 years, beginning when I lived just up the hill from the hospital. When I moved to the North Side, I looked for another vet in the neighborhood, but in the end always made the trip back to Eastlake. All the good stuff you read about them above is true. I lost my last cat on NYE this year, and don't plan on getting another pet. But I will miss seeing Dr. Anderson and co almost as much as the patter of little paws around the house.
Very good compassionate vets

One thing I really appreciate about their vets is their compassion towards the animals and their helpful explanations about treatment and conditions.
They are extremely knowlegeable and their follow-ups show how much they care. Dr. Anderson is very upfront about treatment options and can describe in great detail what your pet is feeling or experiencing. That's an important consideration in choosing treatment for the animal.
I will, however, temper this review with one downside - Eastlake Veterinary Hospital does seem a little more expensive compared to others. While I would say the care is definitely worth it, budget considerations sometimes end up limiting the options for your pet.
Exceptional Clinic & Superlative People
by Magnus at Citysearch
Eastlake Veterinary Hospital treated me & my beloved kittie, Pazzo, with the utmost in love, professionalism & care during many difficult days. The facility is wonderful, safe, spotless & warm; plus there is easy & free parking on-site. The staff is bright, always friendly & focused on your needs. They offer alternative ideas & suggestions to pet owner's needs & various questions.
Dr. Anderson is an exceptional doctor & person. He has is an active dog-owner of large & small breeds. I have learned that Dr. Anderson attends many national educational events & represents owner groups as their veterinarian. Attentive, kind, wise, balanced, calm, sympathetic...I could go on & on about this superlative man & vet. Carl Anderson, DVM, even went so far as to follow-up with me in a hand-written letter upon the final passing of Pazzo.
Having owned several dogs & cats...plus other animals over my lifetime & seeing numerous veterinarians along the way, Eastlake Veterinary Hospital stands above them all. I give these tender & one-of-a-kind people & their clinic my highest possible personal endorsement & recommendation.
- Pros: Best Vet Ever Known
Great diagnostics on my cat, Pete
by WmPlatts at Citysearch
My cat had some weird ailment of "high fever syndrome", or so I was told by other Vets (2). Without getting into all the medical terminology I will just say Carl took in my cat with a near fatal temp, immediately cold bathed him, IV'd him for hydration then went to work figuring out what was going on, and that is just what he did, figured it out. I left with Pete wrapped in the towel I brought him in with about 1-1/2 hour later, with some meds to go. I have never had the problem again and yes it was not cheap, $376.00, but add the two vets who charged close to the same and came up with zip and I guess Eastlake was not expensive at all. I can't speak for any other docs at the clinic but Carl is top notch in my many years of trips to the Vet. I will return to Eastlake and not complain about the bill!. It was reasonable for what I received!

- Pros: Carl figured out that which others all missed!
I love my veterinarian
by tbs208 at Citysearch
The vet I have seen over the years is Dr. Anderson, and I think that he is just the best. I moved here several years ago, and tried a couple of other vet hospitals in the area. They were fine, but not in the same league with Dr. Anderson. He has had years of experience, and he doesn't quit until he has figured out what is wrong with a sick animal. I owe my pets lives to him, and recommend him and his staff with highest praise.
- Pros: In depth medical care from consummate professionals
- Cons: no boarding for large dogs.
