Kraken is Mistaken: This Place Rocks.
Kraken must have had his tights in a bunch over a light wallet and high-maintenance woman, because from an out-of-town perspective, this place is stellar. Paid Metro a visit over this past weekend to assist a friend with correct footwear before deciding over Noc Noc and another club we eventually went to, and in doing so, found the service and selection of this establishment to be outstanding.
- Great Selection by Los Angeles clothing standards.
- Great Pricing, comparable to what you'd find on Ebay sales.
- Friendly Staff: Thanks for the Italian food recommendation, but Indian worked out better next door.
Go to Metro for all of the above reasons, and enjoy the experience.
BAIT AND SWITCH!. The Metro is a horrible store. Not only are they overpriced, knowing that they have a monopoly on the styles that they carry, but their business practices are shady. On Monday evening, my girlfriend and myself were walking down Broadway when we noticed a sign on the Metro's window that stated in big, bold letters: "40% OFF EVERYTHING!" "Well," we thought, "we should at least go in and check it out". So we did. I found a lovely undergarment for her, that, at its original price would have been a little bit outside my budget. However at 40% off? No problem!I asked the clerk to hold it for me for 24 hours, and confirmed that it was indeed part of "EVERYTHING", and thus subject to the advertised sale price. Yesterday evening, we went back to purchase it. A different clerk rang it up, charging me full price. When I asked why it was suddenly not part of "EVERYTHING" in the store, I was told to look at the signage inside the store - where only certain racks had the 40% off sign. I then responded that I was actually told that it wold be on sale, and that "EVERYTHING" usually means just that. The (oh-so) rude cashier merely shrugged, and I paid for the item - I didn't want to disappoint my girlfriend after all. When I told her that it was actually not on sale, she encouraged me to return it - knowing my bdgetary restraints. I was also experiencing some buyer's remorse at having spent above what had intended. We hadn't even left the store. The garment had never, even been out of the bag.I decided to return it, and have my money back. I was irritated at the Bait and Switch, and told the clerk as much. I was then told that The Metro never gives refunds. Ever. Even though we hadn't even walked out the door with the piece.I could get in-store credit. Do NOT, if at all possible give this place your custom. Not only was I lied to and overcharged, but I was also treated with a complete and total lack of respect. From now on, it's ordering online for the items that they carry.
Drag queens, dancers, goths and punks can find that special ensemble to make a real fashion statement..
In Short
Pierced and friendly salespeople are happy to make suggestions from the sea of black, leather and sexy outfits--pants, halters, gowns and platform shoes. The red-feather wings with matching red wig and fishnet body stocking are popular. If you're just updating your look, go for the accessories--sterling-silver finger armor, spiked dog collars, feather boas and multicolored wigs. For a little sparkle, throw in a spray can of body glitter.
Hands down the best. Of all the places in Seattle to buy fetish fashion clothing and shoes, the Metro is far and away the best place to go. They have an absolutely HUGE selection of shoes/boots, gothwear, clubwear, PVC, costumes, stockings, gloves, makeup, funky wigs, and jewelry. Unlike many stores in the area, people of ALL body types can find clothing there, not just those with supermodel figures. Discount cards for frequent shoppers. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I do a lot of drag and feel very comfortable shopping in or out of drag. The prices are more reasonable compared to many of the other stores in Seattle selling similar products.
Very Cool. You have to go in here if you're on Broadway. The workers are friendly and quiet. Lots of cool accessories, from bondage gear, to wings, to sunglasses, to hair dye. Prices are average.
