Tips for B & O Espresso

Horrible service, very overpriced desserts. A friend took me to this restaurant raving about the desserts but I was disgusted by the horrible service and the very expensive desserts. Not only did both tables next to us (who were both seated after us) get their desserts before us, but the waitress had to come up to us three times and get our orders three times and she still messed the order up. And then they asked us to move tables because another party was coming! I know this place is popular but the service is terrible. The desserts are good but not worth the price or terrible service. Dont patronize this restaurant because you are encouraging bad service. My friend lives right by there and I am mystified when I see the restaurant busy. Why go to a restaurant that hires incompetent servers and obviously encourages bad service?

Appallingly awful service. I've been living across the street from the B&O restaurant for a while, now, and have had to suffer many friends choosing it as their dessert restaurant of the evening. I simply am unable to comprehend why it is so popular. The desserts are quite decent, for the most part (stay far, far away from the Apple Cobbler - but do try the Chocolate Pot). Their drinks are also tasty and cleverly concocted.

However, the prices are astronomical (I recall, last time, having a good laugh about a SEVEN-DOLLAR BOWL OF OATMEAL). The service is inexcusable. I've never had what I would consider even reasonable service there.

By all means, go and check it out. For some odd reason, it's quite popular; it may be just that my fifteen experiences were all flukes. I'm going to continue to doubt that sincerely, but for some reason, Seattlites seem to like it.

Unacceptably poor service!. B&O does have a create selection of desserts - but the employees are incredibly slow and unhelpful. I stopped in one evening to purchase dessert to go, and waited and waited for service. One employee behind the counter was waiting on a customer, slowly filling their order. Three other employees stood behind the counter, talking with one another, never acknowledging my presence. I left without ordering - and will continue to tell this story, so that fellow Seattleites look elsewhere for dessert. We deserve to be treated better please dont spend your money here!

Disappointing. Have passed B&O for years while on my way somewhere else. I should have continued to pass it by. Stopped in for breakfast after a long search for parking.

I ordered one of my favorites, Eggs Benedict and coffee. The coffee was bitter, but hot and steamy. The Eggs Benedict? Awful. Hollandaise was thick, coagulated and cold. No Canadian bacon, just a thin piece of ham. English muffins weren't even toasted. The potatoes were greasy and cold. Service was s l o w. There are better places than B&O on Capitol Hill.

Skip this place. I made my reservations and was there for their high tea. IT WAS DISAPPOINTING. The price is too high for the quality of food served.

The cucumber sandwich is practically drench in dressing & the cucumber is at least 1/2" thick. It tasted sour instead of fresh. The scones broke into hard crumbs when u hold onto it. The bread loaves are too sweet. The lemon tarts tasted of stale egg yolks! The service is equally bad. There were 4 of us and only 2 sets of tea strainers, butter etc on the table. She told us to share the strainer. But each of us were drinking a different tea! She wasn't there when we needed refill. She put on a look as if she did not want to serve.

This is not the place for good food nor the place if u want reasonable service.

did someone say crab cakes?. i can't rave enough about how happy b&o makes me. such delicious desserts (and i am a TOTAL dessert snob) and wonderful bar menu... i'm such a fan! i went as far as to purchase our wedding cake here- and people to this day continue to RAVE about how much they loved it. the best part about that experience is that the quote that they gave, was the price that i paid- no hidden 'delivery fees' or such. b&o has made my ( & several others!) days brighter.

The Best Lemon Chiffon Cake. The B & O is a great place to stop in for brunch, lunch, dinner or anytime. Since the first time I entered that establishment I have been a devoted

diner. And the waitstaff is always sure to have a slice of Lemon Chiffon Cake ready for me.

In my opinion, they have some of the most delicious cakes I have ever tasted.

My favorited thing to do is stop in for lunch and order one of their great quiches and a light salad. That leaves just enough room for a decadent delight! I've tried just about all of their desserts but I always go back to the Lemon Chiffon. It is heaven on a plate. Bite for Bite the B&O gets my highest ratings!

Great for dates. I took my boyfriend to B&O Espresso for his birthday, and we loved it. The service was great, the food was yummy (although maybe a tad overpriced), and the ambience was perfect. We sat at an outside table, lit by tiki torch, and got to do some people watching. The rasberry cheesecake was maybe the best I've ever had, and they poured us each HUGE Grand Marniers for dessert. I would definitley recommend B&O for special occaisions or dates.

asi asi. i've been meaning to get here for years now. finally did, last nite, for dessert and a coffee. the atmosphere is lovely, truly enjoyed the outdoor seating, the small cafe tables and the "patisserie" mural on the wall. the long-awaited desserts, however, i found overpriced and not so 'to-die-for'. the wine menu looked enticing but we opted for coffee. which was just ok, at best. service was bad. not rude, but spacey, or just forgetful or something. don't know that i'll return soon.
