What People Are Saying About Siam On Broadway

The Scene – The relaxed atmosphere reflects the no-nonsense approach to standard Thai fare. Grab a quick bite at the counter, where you can absorb the organized chaos of the open kitchen and check out the parade of foot traffic on Broadway. Service can be efficient to the point of overzealousness, but that only adds to the informal, bustling vibe. – – The Food – Fish cakes and other Thai standbys like pad thai or tom kah gai are safer bets than some of the other entrees. The curries can be on the salty side, a problem alleviated somewhat with a helping of white rice.…
Life Customer (15+ Years)

Siam has two locations. One on Lake Union and Broadway. I am partial to the Broadway location. I ave been going there for over 15 years and it has not changed in any way (except for the remodel around 2003)
The restaurant is small, very clean and the food is exceptional. Over the years I have varied my orders but seem to go back to what I call the classics. The "special fried rice" "swimming angel" and "green curry" are amazing. I think the special rice is the best i have had anywhere. I think its the chinese sausage and pineapple combo.
The prices are amazingly low for a city restaurant and for Seattle. $30 to feed 2 people and have food for the next day. That is a steal.
The service is great as well. It is a casual place that allows you to have a private conversation, be a little load as a group or meet someone at the sitdown counter. If you want to be quiet and by yourself, sit at the counter and be entertained by the cooks right across the counter from you.
Parking in this area of town in hard to find. You will most likely have to park 2-3 blocks away (pay if parking is the only hurdle - it worth the 5 dollars) The only benifit to the parking is the location in the city. You will find the area of down to be interesting and fun for watching people, which is always great after dinner. Safe and Easy. (there is a good dessert place 3 blocks south on Broadway - Dilettante Chocolate)
All-in-all we love the restaurant so much that when we moved to the burbs 10 years ago, we continued to visit the restaurant at least 2x a month since. It is a 25+ mile drive oneway and worth every dime (not a dime anymore with gas prices) but still worth it at any cost.
- Pros: Food, Portions, Value
- Cons: Parking
Best in town!

I've visited countless Thai restaurants in and around Seattle, and nothing compares to Siam. The flavor of the food is excellent and the wait staff are always friendly. The garlic chicken dish, pad thai, and pad see eww are the best. Siam also has a great wine list with wines that really compliment many of the dishes. If you're looking for somewhere new to try this is it!
- Pros: Consistent food and service
- Cons: none
Not that good

As another reviewer said, the food was "just OK." I got a stir-fry vegetable dish whose name I don't recall now. The veggies were cooked nicely and were crisp enough, but the pinwheel-sliced carrots reminded me of something from a kids menu, and the celery was an unusual choice of vegetable for a Thai dish. I don't think it blended well with the rest of the flavors. Service is quick, the prices are decent, and the place looks pretty nice, but overall it's just not worth it. Perhaps their other dishes are better, but I won't be coming back unless I happen to be in the neighborhood and must have Thai food right there and then... which is unlikely. I'd rather wait until I get home and go to Racha or Tup Tim Thai.
- Pros: Service is quick, the place looks nice, the ingredients are fresh
- Cons: Just not very good, compared to other Thai restaurants in the city
