The Scene – Situated in what some think of as a hidden neighborhood, this Eastlake eatery pulsates nightly with lively banter and good cheer. Open windows during warm months boost the laid-back feel as couples and clusters of soccer players fill the exposed-brick dining room. Servers are in constant motion and may not have time to direct diners to a table, so take charge and find a seat. – – The Food – Carb watchers beware; it's hard to resist the specialty breads that flow from the kitchen's wood-fired ovens, especially pazzo bread smothered in pesto, tomatoes and a…

Poor Service/Bad attitude

I went in with a friend and after waiting 45 minutes for our food while we watched two tables that came in after us eat their pizza. We asked if they had ordered ahead of time but they hadn't. I finally went up to the counter and we were still 4 orders back from the food even being made much less brought to out table. We left. IT was also FREEZING cold inside. I'm very sad that the service was so bad and the waitress acted as if WE were the ones being unreasonable. I would have liked an apology instead of a blank confused stare. Horrible!
- Pros: They do make okay food
- Cons: The service is horrible

This place is great. The beer was cheap, the people there were friendly, and the staff was nice. I got an amazing calzone, perhaps the best calzone I've ever had..and the house salad that came with it was perfect. I recommend it for anyone that wants to hang/drink out in a cozy, friendly atmosphere with better quality food than you would get anywhere comparable.
- Pros: Great food, nice people
- Cons: none yet
I love it

Service based on small ego

vvThe food is good, and most of the staff I've met were helpfull. Not all. I went in today at 2:30pm Tuesday 10/2/07. I asked for a drink and an order of food. I was reading a book and in my own head when I finished my drink. I pointed to the glass to indicate a refill, intent on my book. The next thing I know the bartender is giving me a hard time for not meeting his eyes and talking to him when I asked for a refill. This escalated and I was asked to not return. Apparently with some of the staff you have to kiss their a** to get a drink or food, and failure to do so is grounds for being asked to leave. I wasn't looking for a confrontation, I was only interested in reading my book and relaxing, but these items are not on the menu without a degree of smooching to sooth fragile egos. This is stupid. I don't go to -any- place to kiss the butts of the people who work there. I don't expect them to kiss mine either. I just expect to get my drink and food, and be otherwise left alone. I suspect most of the staff is not like this, but whoever is working there during this shift needs to grow up.
