Located in the Historical Harvard-Belmont Landmark District, most of the original floor plan and exterior has been retained. In 1984, a great fire burned 60% of the interior and necessitated major renovation. Fortunately, Bacon Mansion's massive walls spared the glass and wood pocket doors found in the "day rooms." Opening as The Broadway Guest House in 1985, this unique bed and breakfast is now a stately residence for all who enter. In Short – This gargantuan 1909 Tudor houses 11 rooms and suites, including a separate carriage house. The spacious main floor is resplendent with antiques and features a stately library with original woodwork. There's also a large living room with a fireplace, a patio and a formal dining room where the staff serve expanded continental breakfasts. Some rooms entice guests with soaking tubs (all but two have private baths) and fireplaces; others are cozy nooks with angled ceilings.
