Since 1951, this quick-serve restaurant has catered to on-the-go motorists, pioneering drive-thru dining and a broad selection of distinctive fast-food items. The menu emphasizes burgers like the best-selling Jumbo Jack--a thick patty topped with lettuce, tomato, ketchup and mayo-onion sauce--but value items like stuffed jalapenos, bacon-cheddar potato wedges, and "monster" tacos are popular, too. Breakfast and sourdough sandwiches, salads and real ice cream shakes round out the offerings.

Fast budget Eats. They have a drive up window and you can get a hamburger with lettuce, tomato, etc. for just over a $1 - Don't ask for the meal! - Just the burger. Better nutrition in a hurry - than fries - even better if you toss 1/2 the bun. You can eat it while driving.
