Overall a good experience.
My sister recently got engaged. She was coming up to Seattle for a visit and we thought we would look at some wedding dresses. So I booked an appt at I Do Bridal. I've driven past this place several times and always wanted to check out the business. Overall our experience was great. There was no high pressure sales. Our sales associate took a ton of time with us. She understood my sister was trying on her first dresses and that we were still looking. In fact we found my sister's dress there and the only reason why we didn't purchase it was we found it for less closer to my sister's city. Otherwise we would've gone back to purchase it.
The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars was the place is too small. The dresses were are crammed together and not laid out nicely. In fact it looked a little like a stockroom and kind of messy. We were lucky because we were the only ones there otherwise we would've been tripping over other people. Though you can't put a price on customer service and they had it.
I DO BRIDAL. I had a great experince with I Do Bridal, and I would recomend anyone to go there. They are in a small building and there isnt a lot of room, but they make up for it with GREAT customer service and selection of gowns. They dont pressure you into making bigger purchases, or try to add on item after item at the register (ie veil, shoes etc). Even after my gown was fully paid for, and I returned to pick it, they where super nice and I felt like they were generally excited and happy for me!
Awesome Experience!. My older sister lives in Wallingford and scheduled an appointment for us to go to I Do Bridal when I was in town. I am SO GLAD!!! Once I met Alicia who helped us I totally relaxed. She was so friendly and professional. She really listened to what I was looking for and helped me find a beautiful Robin Jillian dress that I cannot wait to wear. Since I bought my dress everyone that I have told about my dress shopping there has said the same great things about them. I am so happy to have a beautiful dress that was well within my budget and to support a small local business.
RUN AWAY. AVOID..
I write this review with a heavy heart as I like to give my business to local companies, but please avoid this store. It's not that the staff is not nice - they just screwed up my order in a BIG way. Their attempts to rectify the situation were not acceptable and left me on my own to fix their mistake just a week before my wedding. I was faced with paying several hundred extra dollars towards fabric and seamstress fees due to their carelessness. Not to mention the extra stress no bride needs to have! Ever!
After my honeymoon, I asked I Do Bridal to refund the rush charges for my initial order, plus to pay for the extra fabric and fees that THEIR MISTAKE caused. After contacting the owner via email (she had previously ignored my two certified letters) she refused to pay. Enough said. Take your business elsewhere!
I would give them zero stars if I could.
I am only giving this shop one star because I have to - I would rather give it zero stars.
I bought my wedding dress at IDB, and when I came in to get fitted for the dress, they took my measurements and recommended a size for me - they told me to go with the size that would be a little big on me, so I could be sure to sit comfortably, and we would just tailor to top parts a little.
well, when my mom and I went to pick up the dress, I tried it on. It was so tight that I couldn't breathe!!! And I know that I didn't gain any weight since the fitting, especially in my ribcage, where it compressed the most. The girls at the store told me not to worry, I could get the sides let out a little, just enough to make this "bigger" size dress comfortable. Well, that was a huge lie.
I took the dress to a tailor, who told me that we can't let out the sides because the embroidery on my dress went over all of the seams. She suggested I put in one of those lace-up backs, which doesn't match the style of my vintage-y dress at ALL. So I said no to that, and we went for a MUCH more time-consuming alteration, opening up the back lower so that I can breathe on my wedding day.
In addition to the "bigger" dress being too small, I found that the length is wrong - yes, my $100 "Custom" length requires that I wear 4-inch heels, so that I don't step on my dress. They even measured me in heels!!! WTF?
When I called to inform them of the mistakes that were made, they said that I am responsible for the dress size- they just make "recommendations," but it is up to me to make the final choice. Now why on earth would that be my final choice? They are supposed to be the "experts." Well, clearly they don't know what they are doing. Had I known that they employ people with an IQ of a gerbil at this store, I would have insisted on checking the sizes myself.
I asked for some knid of refund for what will inevitably be a huge alteration bill, and they refused. I have a good mind to report them.
I would warn EVERYONE away from buying from IDB. Wedding planning is stressful enough, there is no need to add on unexpected alterations and frustration to the process.
Wonderful Bridal Boutique. The staff at I Do Bridal are knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I tried on about a third of the store in a little more than an hour, and thanks to the personable staff it was a pleasant experience instead of a stressful one. I received my dress quickly, and it looked perfect. I purchased my dress, shoes, and hair piece there for less than $1000.00. The dresses are exquisite, yet extremely affordable. I Do Bridal does not offer in house alterations though, and it was a bit of a hassle to get them done elsewhere. Despite this, I Do Bridal was very helpful in recommending good tailors. I encourage every bride to check out their store. Their window displays alone are worth the visit.
Found my dream dress!.
I saw a dress in their window when I was driving by and stopped in to take a look at it. Since my wedding isn't for almost a year I was not planning on trying anything on. They were super busy but had an opening a few minutes from when i arrived. Morgan took a lot of time to talk to me about what I like and the details of the wedding that Brian and I had arranged so far.
I really liked the dress in the window but, it was the one that she picked out that blew me away. It was really light and comfortable and I knew it would be perfect for my outdoor/casual wedding.
Since I am not one to make a quick decision she agreed to hold the dress for me overnight and I couldn't wait to go back and try it on again. I took my fiance and was worried that it was weird to have him there but, they were so nice and really made us both feel comfortable.
It is so exciting to have the dress done and it was much more reasonable than I expected. In fact the one she picked for me was almost half the price of the original in the window. I give them huge props for being so accommodating and honest with us!
Found a Great Dress But Too many mistakes and hassles.
I decided to take my dress and veil out today. I was surprised to notice that my $169 veil had a defect in the beadwork. (Side note: IDB made a mistake in the measurement of my first veil and then re-ordered me another one. After looking closely at the veil it may be the same one except altered because the edges are not clean and the beads are bunching up - the veil company may have not sent back a new one).
Bottom line: Poor customer service and no refunds. They made a mistake on everything - my dress was too long - not sure if I got a "custom hem", the Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dresses were sewn poorly as noted by every alterations person we visited, and the sloppy quality of the BelAire veil. There is enough stress with wedding planning. I just ended up with more.
Thank goodness I found them!.
My wedding planning has been kind of rushed since my fiance is leaving to Afghanistan in June and we had thought we would have a year or two before we needed to get serious about planning. It has been really stressful and I was worried about finding a dress that I could afford and having it in time for my May wedding.
The girls at I Do Bridal were amazing. From the moment I walked in the door I was cheerfully greeted and introduced to Alicia who helped me. She was so sweet and genuine and I totally relaxed. None of the other stores that I went to treated me with such respect. I told her my whole story and she dove right in helping me find a ton of dresses that were under $700 and my size.
It was actually hard to pick just one that I loved and I had to go back twice to be sure that I got the right one. Each time she was happy to see me and remembered my name, it just meant so much that someone else was happy and excited for me and took the time to really help me. I would recommend them to anyone who is getting married and say that by far they had the best service and most different types of dresses that were affordable. I can't wait to wear my dress and send them photos for their website!
Extra costs and fees are a lie!!!.
This store is terrible. I had gone to so many bridal shops and had been met with so much graciousness at most all of them. This shop was like a hop in, hop out, order and get out type of place.
1- I had to call multiple times just to get someone to answer the call.
2 - You are not EVEN allowed inside the store unless you have an appt.
3 - If you try on a dress that is obviously to tight to you and all the people with you, they insist it is the right size.
4 - They do NOT alter anything. They give you a list and off you go. Not a full service place with LOTS of inexperience staff. At other places, even the front desk girls knew more about wedding dresses and were more willing to help.
5 - HERE'S THE WORST PART - and the part I outed them on (and when I did, the manager got defensive and said she felt like she was being attacked...I think someone was feeling a little guilty)...they were telling me that in order to get the dress in on time, I had to pay a $150 rush fee AND in order to get the dress in my size I had to pay an extra fabric cost of $120. Well, there were 3 other stores in the area that carried the same dress and ALL 3 of them, said there was no need for a rush fee (as the gown would appear ONE month earlier than what "I Do Bridal" said WITH THE RUSH FEE and that there was no extra fabric costs, unless the dress was a plus size (which it was not!!!)
These people are terrible and LIE. This is the worst part about them. Besides the fact that they have terrible phone manners, and have sales staff that have no idea what they are talking about, they are pushy and rude - when confronted about their lies, they just deny it. Their manager said that she considers the rush fee an insurance policy to make the bride happy and get her gown in on time. That, to me, is no different than stealing.
