A commitment to local music and flavor keeps this Fremont store spinning.. In Short
Fremont folk and Capitol Hill hipsters peruse the goods here. If there were a way to chart a record store's hip-quotient, this shop would come up sparkling. It has a focus on Northwest music, loves vinyl and even opened up at midnight for Death Cab for Cutie to play and sell a new record. Completing the equation is the friendly staff--even if you're clueless, they won't make you feel that way.

Super. This is my favorite record store in Seattle. You can visit any of their three locations and you'll always find something good. Great selection, and good prices to boot.

Best in Seattle. Great selection of local and indie, and knowledgeable staff as well. I've been amazed more than once on finding something there I never thought they'd carry. My favorite CD store in the Seattle area.

I really like going here.. I remember when Sonic Boom was in a small little building in Fremont. Now, they've moved, opened another store in Ballard and are set to open yet another one in Capitol Hill. This store has great used CDs (they usually don't buy crap) at great prices. They also have a great used vinyl selection as well. I found a copy of "U2-3" at the Ballard location (U2's first vinyl release in 1979). The new stuff can be pricey, but that can't really be avoided. The staff is pretty friendly and the atmosphere is great.
