The Scene
Regulars nestle into their favorite tables at this casual neighborhood cafe, sliding menus aside. Since many servers have worked here for years, they treat customers like family and can describe the taste of any dish perfectly. The setting also lends itself to a casually romantic evening out, especially as the night progresses and the little ones go home to bed--it's a great first-date spot.

The Food
Smart folks come for pizza and a pitcher of beer. Many choose the elegant, simple Margherita, topped with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and Asiago cheeses, olive oil and fresh basil. Pizzas are sinfully gooey with a light, medium-thin crust. Those looking for an alternative can order the generous bowl of steamed mussels in a dip-worthy Vermouth broth, or baked scallops swimming in creamy Marsala sauce. Standout entrees include cheese-filled tortellini Esposito with sauteed tomatoes, basil and prosciutto and lemony chicken piccata.

Yeah, so i drove by the place where Fremont Classic used to be and there is some other Italian food place has opened up there. Maybe they changed the name, but it's definitely not Fremont Classic. Just thought I'd let you know.

We've considered Fremont Pizza one of our favorite places for years now. There is no where else in Seattle to enjoy such a solid, tasty Italian menu at such reasonable prices. For a few visits over the past years, we did experience the occasional off night, where the pizza flavor seemed to be missing something, or 1 visit where the service was so atrocious I ended up emailing the restaurant to complain. We noticed last night when we visited that the place has been taken over by a longtime employee, while the original owner has moved on to explore different venues. With this change of management seems to have also brought a correction to any inconsistencies. Everything about our experience was right on - From being seated promptly and courteously, to fast, but not overbearing service (our server was OUTSTANDING). The food was excellent from appetizer (calamari di friti with red pepper and garlic aioli that is so wonderful, we wiped the container with the last piece of calamari as if it were a spatula), spinach salad with glazed walnuts, our favorite pizza with perfectly flavored sauce, great beer, great fresh coffee, and last but certainly the BEST in Seattle - Their fresh Tiramisu (moist, with delicious chunks of chocolate in each bite). All at decent prices. YUM. :)

Fremont Classic is hands down my favorite restaurant, ever. The food is amazing. I always have a tough time deciding what to order, because everything is so good! I especially recommend going on a weeknight. They have a great weeknight special where you pay I think $15, which includes starter salad, entree, and dessert. What a deal! Some of the portions are a little on the small side, but with the weekday special it totally makes up for it, because it costs less than usual and you get all the extras as well. I especially recommend the creme caramel for dessert. It's too die for!
