It's all about the noodles at this cozy Fremont favorite..
In Short
With its red walls, ornate decorations and dependable menu items, this Fremont Thai restaurant draws a steady crowd of neighborhood regulars to its bar and dining area. Homemade noodles elevate the otherwise standard pad thai and take center stage in the savory drunken noodles. Spicy, comforting tom yum soup is chock-full of vegetables, meat and tangy lemongrass.
quick hot lunch. I went to Jai Thai today with some girls from work and we were very pleased with the quick service and great meal. We were seated promptly and after ordering our food came out in less than 10 minutes. The food was wonderful. The only down side is that you cannot have them split the check.
Atmosphere and Cuisine. Fremont has more Thai restaurants per/square mile than anywhere else in the city. However, for my money, Jai Thai is the best. The prices are reasonable, they have a good handle on the spicy/not spicy factor and the dim-light cozy seating is comforting on even the rainiest of Seattle days. Every appetizer on the menu is good and their bar selection is immense. The wait staff is busy but not too busy to smile or seat you, and it was not reflected by slow service. They even treated my 5-year old with the respect he is often refused by other Seattle restaurants.
Delicious!. Thai restaurants are a dime a dozen and I've been to a lot of them but this Jai Thai in Fremont had the most incredible pad thai, yellow curry chicken and Thai fried rice. I took my very-picky-about-Asian-food parents there and they were blown away. Can't put my finger on it but the taste of each dish just had something special that sets this restaurant apart. And the prices were very reasonable too. My only complaint is the dark and rather scary bathroom.
Great Phad Thai, Yellow curry.
A few friends and I go to the Fremont Jai Thai at least once a week. For a few months, the service was pretty bad, but it has gotten much better over the last month - there are quite a few new faces there.
Even through the bad service, we kept going for the great food. By far the best Phad Thai I've had, and a great yellow curry. Now that the service has improved, we're even happier!
great. The food was amazing...and the drinks are just as good! In all the times I have been there it has been busy, but in a home-y way, not too loud and still comfortable. I have never had a bad dish, the cooking is great
I love Jai Thai!.
I always can get delicious food like my Thai friend used to cook for me and my friends
when I was in Thai with good price at Jai Thai. And staff are very friendly. I always enjoy Thai language sound as well.
TRY IT LAST WEEK,WILL GO BACK AGAIN. Just happen to be in the area. Use to read about bad comment, try it anyway. It was very busy on Friday night. Food was excellent, good and on time. The service is fine, no complaint at all.
Warning - If you have diet restrictions!. They will *not* respect vegetarian or allergy restrictions. Our office recently ordered takeout and checked the orders before leaving because something had always been wrong in the past. They had made a tofu dish with chicken instead and when it was sent back kept us waiting long enough to make us think it was remade. Unfortunately the vegetarian was half way through before she found some pieces of chicken they hadn't picked out at the bottom. When we returned later that day for a refund for that meal, it was refused but credit for three lunches was offered instead - without an apology. The obvious message was that cash in hand was more important to them than their customer. They lost the business of our entire office as a result. There are too many other Thai restaurants - in Fremont alone - to make us settle for such bad service.
Not too good. I eat a lot of Thai food. I've even eaten here twice in the past two weeks. The first time was a lunch with about 5 people. Everyones food came at different times, and was incorrect on two occasions. It is a good value, but it is not very good for Thai food. It's Thai food is what Taco Bell is to Mexican food. There is a much better place across the street, but I can't remember the name.
