Best Lunch Date. Period..
I have lived in the Seattle area for 5+ years and this is the best little restaurant you could hope to find on a sunny afternoon with nothing else to do. This is the place I take my family to when they're visiting. Not all of them like Greek food, but the atmosphere is adorable; and there are "american-enough" things on the menu to satisfy them.
There are live belly dancers on Friday evenings - free performance while you eat! And the food is so authentic. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. It is an absolute MUST for lunch. (Dinner is a little pricey for their offerings - although I would still go). Lunchtime is great because there are so many other things to do and look at while you're in that neighborhood. Check it out, make a day of Fremont. It is often overlooked by tourists, but a favorite forf us locals!
authentic greek fare. This place is awesome. From the authentic decor to the traditional Greek food. Costas Opa is a great restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I have gone several times with a large group of 12-20 people and Costas always accomodates. I usually just call ahead. They have prompt service and a very affordable menu. I always order the flaming cheese appetizer, where they light cheese on fire and it crisps the outside. It is to die for!!!
Greece comes to Seattle at this funky Fremont taverna, offering enclosed courtyard seating and plenty of Mediterranean culture..
In Short
Clay pots and old-fangled instruments hang from the ceiling, a large mural of the Greek gods dominates one wall, traditional music plays on the sound system and the welcoming owners know frequent patrons by name--this spot feels like it's transplanted straight from Athens. Multi-level seating options include long tables and comfy booths. The menu offers enough souvlaki, spanakopita, gyros, moussaka, calamari and other Greek favorites to satiate anyone's inner Dionysus.
Weird but true. I've been trying for 9 months to find a great salad in this town and the other day I finally went to Costas Opa and chanced upon there awesome salad menu. The Paros Salad (I added grilled chicken) is quite possibly the best salad I have ever had. Mixed greens with sunflower seeds, dried cranberries and fresh fruit with this sweet and tangy vinagrette-like dressing. The burgers are great and inexpensive. The spanikopita is as big as your head and delicious. I have only had fantastic food here. The staff aren't overly friendly, but they get the job done. This place is great.
Favorite Restaurant for years. This has been our family's favorite restaurant for years. I have tried for years to find a Greek restaurant that even comes close, and none have. Their food is amazing. All the flavors blend together harmoniously! My family and I have always driven 45 minutes to get to Costas Opa and try to celebrate our birthdays, ect here. Its the ONLY restaurant that we eat at when in Seattle.
Best Greek food ever!. Great atmosphere.! Loved my server - very attentive - quite helpful in explaining the Greek dishes that I was not familiar with. Loved the bellydancing! Perfect entertainment on a Saturday night before going out on the town. My friends and I highly reccommend Costas. We'll definitely be back. Thank you! :-)
Best Greek food in town!. It was a wonderful experience. I met a physican and his wife for dinner. I mentioned via email I wanted to take them to a Great Greek restaurant. They replied "We love Costas Opa" meet you at 7:00 pm Wednesday. The food was excellent, they loved the atmosphere and it was a big success. The staff was also very attentive and made us feel special. Thanks "Costas Opa" we will be back!
