Chutneys recently moved to the Southwest corner of Wallingford Center, which is at the corner of N 45th Street and Wallingford Ave N, in Seattle. The interior is delightful with Indian accents throughout. Authentic tandoori dishes come from a traditional clay oven. Curries with chicken, lamb and shrimp are cooked to perfection. Kothmir Chicken, cooked in a coconut curry sauce, is excellent. The soft naan bread is warm and enticing. We invite you to join us for lunch or dinner.

In Short – Chutney's made its name with standards mixed with "Americanized" variations on Indian flavors. Dishes range from traditional vegetable pakoras (deep fried vegetable dumplings) to chicken tandoori, marinated in yogurt and baked in a round clay oven. The signature tikka masala, with chunks of lamb bathed a blend of butter, cream and curry, is as rich as it sounds.

ok folks, this Indian restaurant by far has captured my tase buds forever now! I have tried several Indian places in the NW, eventhough Seattle area has more than 150 indian restaurants Chutney's definetly stands out to me and my family/friends in every way imaginable...I saw some of the reviews that other "customers" wrote below me....seriously folks you need to quit being super picky and appreciate the culture and environment that this place has and shares with you, you won't find another place like this in all of Seattle area, Mark my words!!! Ask yourselves what other Indian restaurant has an ORGANIC menu??? This is the only Indian place in all of Seattle that is actually using certified produce for thier menu, I was estatic when I discovered this fact :)
I couldn't be any happier! All the staff, food, environment, parking, and the best part is they're open all year round with an beautiful buffet variety.
Don't believe me? I dare you to go and try it yourselves...

Have tried many Indian restaurants and I have to say the Chuteny's Bistro in Wallingford is my favorite! The food is well prepared and they even have an menu with organic dishes and organic wines! We ordered Chicken Tikka masala and Saag paneer. Loved both and would recommend it to friends. Check it out for yourself. You will not be dissapointed! Free parking too. The phone number above is not correct on the city search site...it is 634-1000.
Poor quality food, fine service

The food at Chutney's has been a great disappointment on the last three occasions I ate there. I love Indian food and live right around the corner so I keep going, each time hoping that the last time was just a bad night. In my experience, every night is a bad night at Chutney's. We had the chicken appetizer, which was almost too dry to swallow and had a mild cardboard-like flavor. Chicken Biryani was rice colored with a coarse sauce flavored with pepper and little else. It was embedded with the same dry, orange-tinted chicken breast served as the appetizer. We ate only a few bites of the dish and discarded the remainder. The mint lamb kebabs were tough, dry strips and were the best meat dish of the evening. "Saag" Kofta was pleasant and the rice served with it was cooked perfectly. We had an order of plain Naan which was excellent. The last two times I ate at here were similar: one or two adequate dishes surrounded by an almost inedible mass of other dishes. If you are forced to eat here, you may do better sticking to vegetarian meals and you can't go wrong if you just stick to Naan. The service was quick, friendly and professional.
- Pros: The naan was good
- Cons: Most of the rest of our meal was dry and/or flavorless
