Good but too many old drinkers. You really can't beat the bar experience here when you are in that rare German mood. I don't really like the taste of German been when compared to Northwest Microbrews so I only go here for atmosphere.…
Fun place!. Yeah, service on the weekend can be iffy.. but my friends and I love "Da boot.." lol Fun place, food was good as well. I like the weekday night atmosphere here.
Great beer, inconsistent service. I have mixed feelings about this place. The beer is awesome and is the primary draw. The atmosphere is okay; the food fair but not great. The worst part is the service which is inconsistent. It just seems to be a mixed bag and usually the bartender is rude, non-conversational, cold, aloof and will ignore you if you let her. Occassionally there is a good bartender there who is friendly and service oriented. The owner should really do something to improve the service here. The odd thing is that Die Bierstube on Roosevelt, owned by the same guy, has much better service. More often than not the bartender at Prost has the unmistakable look of someone who would rather be elsewhere. But, as I mentioned, the beer is good!…
Beware of the Saturday night bartender!!!. Prost is one of our favorite mellow bars - a nice change from some of the loud, happening places in Seattle. My friends and I grabbed a table and went up to the bar in groups to order a beer. The bartender was so rude to each of us, we almost left. As members of our party came back to the table, we all had the same thing to say "WOW, she was rude!" She ignored half of the group while obviously helping anyone else she could. I asked "which is the lightest beer" and she rolled her eyes at me and walked away. I was shocked. She then came up to us and said "did you make up your mind yet?" never once did she smile, make eye contact, or try to help us in a professional way. It put a damper on the night and gave us a good reason to never go back on a Saturday night.…
Be prepared to clean up after other patrons. Besides the fact that on a Saturday night there appeared to be only one bartender, all was well, beer was good until someone as the bartender put it "blew chunks" in the men's room behind the toilet. The only reason I know this is because the bartender then took it upon herself to inform the group of people I was with in an accusatory manner and was quite insistent that it MUST have been someone in our group. (My guess is because we were the loudest.) She then provided rags and said that "someone" could clean it up. Knowing full WELL that no one in our group had committed the offense, one of our guys went ahead and commenced with clean up to keep the angry bartender away. I'm pretty sure that patrons are not supposed to handle the bodily fluids of other patrons be it a health code violation or even just a social yuck. We will not be returning for sure, there are other German bars with good beer, better service and a less likely chance that we will pay $7 for a beer and then be given disgusting clean up duty.…
