Beth's Cafe

Seattle landmark since 1954. World famous 12-egg omelettes

  • Open 24-7
  • All-you-can-eat hashbrowns
  • Huge portions

Citysearch staff says that Beth's Cafe is a "Green Lake icon that's been serving hearty breakfast fare to hungover 20-somethings since 1954." Beth's Café is famous for breakfast, served any time of day. You might have to share our 6- and 12-egg omelettes. Come eat, play great tunes on our jukebox and add your works of art to our walls.

We also serve lunch, with burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads. Dare to try our mondo burger--a half pound of meat, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and two strips of bacon.

We've been featured on the Travel Channel, Evening Magazine and Seattle Weekly. Come see what the fuss is about.

Editorial Review for Beth's Cafe – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
This "home of the world-famous 12-egg omelette" could also be called "home of the rock and roll bussers" or "home of alcohol-induced art." The 24-hour diner serves lunch and dinner, but is known for its breakfasts, judging by the lines that regularly form outside this modest establishment on Sunday mornings. The six-egg omelette comes folded on top of itself and draped over a plate of grease-heavy hash browns, while the 12-egger is served on a pizza pan.

Parking

Parking is tough on Aurora; turn on to Winona Avenue and look for the alley leading to a free lot directly behind the restaurant.

Unless you're a 14 year-old Goth runaway who wants to score methamphetamine from the waitstaff, steer clear of Beth's. Everything tastes like grill brick.

Pros: They'll let you shoot up in the men's room.

Cons: Lighting, food, service, atmosphere

If your in the mood for some traditional breakfast fare, then this is the place for you. I will admit that parking can become a pain in the rear and thats where the parking is. In the rear. The service was friendly and attentive to my coffee needs. Also, the food came out really quick. Keep in mind however that we were the only people in there for a majority of the meal. Bottom line: the food is good, or at least its predictable. I ordered the chicken fried steak and thats what I got. Not to mention, it was delicious.

Pros: Breakfast!

Cons: Parking
