Barnof is not what you'd expect.
I and my wife frequent this place for breakfast. At first glance the place looks somewhat slow and the restaurant is not very busy in the mornings. But once you get to know the staff you can see that
they are real and the place has a feeling of reality to it. The food is good and the choices are pretty good. We really love the place.
But this is not for everyone. :)…

The Scene
A brightly lit restaurant, adorned with Alaskan and nautical knickknacks, accompanied by continuous soft favorites from the radio, first greets visitors at this weathered
Greenwood spot. But it's the low-lit tavern in back where a heartier sort come to earn their sea legs. The maritime theme extends to the bar area, which also features a stainless-steel dance floor, a disco ball, pull tabs and some NASCAR paraphernalia thrown in for good measure.
The Draw
The food is certainly not worth the trip, but stiff drinks and friendly service make the place worth recommending. However, it's the weekend entertainment--usually featuring the type of keyboard-driven music most commonly associated with Midwestern hotel lounges--and fabulously diverse (and oftentimes bizarre) collection of characters that congregate here that frequently make it something special.…
