What People Are Saying About Red Mill Burgers

In Short – Customers in line listen to rock-and-roll music with mouths watering over the thick chocolate malts and juicy burgers. The diner-style seating areas at both locations are clean and kid-friendly, but during lunchtime, there can be a bit of a wait. Flame-broiled quarter-pound beef patties, a low-fat veggie burger, even chicken marinated in lemon-honey, can all be found on the surprisingly varied menu. The young staff is remarkably talented at making everyone happy. – – – Photo by jslander – –

Editor's Tips

Look Good:
Make sure to turn the ringer off or the staff will loudly enforce the "no cell phones" rule.
Know Before You Go:
To avoid the wait, call in your order and then head down to Greenlake if seating is limited.

One of my favorite burgers

by Teacher3 at Citysearch

I like Red Mill's Double Bacon Cheeseburger alot. Thick crunchy bacon, salty cheesey meat patties contrasted with juicy sweet tomatoes and crunchy lettuce. Then the special Red Mill sauce hits your taste buds - it's a kind of smoky mayo. And the onions. The fresh bun is toasted and it's crunchy too. Juicy. Crunchy. Sweet. Savory. Salty. Mmmm . . Mmmm!! It's not gourmet, it's just a classic American burger that beats most in the city of Seattle. The onion and fries are reliably hot and crispy. Ask for a side of Red Mill sauce to dip the fries in - just like they do in Belgium.

Best Seattle burger, onion rings, & vanilla shake

by vcannady at Citysearch

If I want a burger and have time to drive to Red Mill, this is where I'm going.

Onion rings were a wee overdone, but still quite flavorful and I would recommend them. The vanilla shake was perfection.

I thought Red Mill surpassed In-N-Out in CA. It's a close call between Red Mill in Seattle and the Cherry Cricket in Denver (featured on Man vs Food).

5 star burger, onion rings, and shake (didn't have to wait too long either, even though it was packed on a weekend).

Does anyone in Seattle know what a good burger is?

by Julirana at Citysearch

I am originally from eastern Washington, The only thing I miss from that side of the state is the burgers. Just because it comes on a fancy bun with unusual toppings doesn't make it a good burger. I had driven by Red Mill a few times and saw the long line leading out the door. I figured if people were willing to wait it must good. While it wasn't horrible it was not worth the wait. The worst thing about the place is the veggie burgers. My boyfriend had the worst gas ever after eating one. I say go to Dick's and save yourself the money and gas.

Creative burgers, good quality

by glittergalaxie at Citysearch

I saw this on the food network and knew that i had to try it. They have a nice menu, with lots of good burger choices. I got the one with roasted peppers on it, which were really very delicious. I opted not to go for the house made smokey mayonaise, which may be one of the reasons I thought it was lacking in flavor so its kind of my own fault. My boyfriend really enjoyed his bleu cheese burger. I felt that they used a high quality of food here, nice buns, fresh veggies etc. Some people complained about the parking but come on dude, its Seattle. Parking sucks everywhere. I had no problem parking anyways. I say eat here! Its tasty and cute!

  • Pros: Fresh quality food
  • Cons: Not as flavorful as hoped

I am amazed at the good reviews of this greasy spoon. The meat is low grade, cooked on a flat grill in a kitchen that looks dirty. The burger comes out so greasy it is terrible.I don't understand what anyone sees that is good in this place.I would never return again

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: Greasy burgers ,terrible french fires and onion rings
